Incredible Mighty, Mighty Marlins, 8th at Age Group Sectionals!
In a meet that featured the best swimmers from 9 Western States the Mighty Marlins proved they are one of the elite clubs in the area by taking 8th in a field of over 150 teams that attended the meet, and another 500 or more that didn’t even have any qualifiers for this prestigous meet!
Only 13 Marlins attended but every Marlin swimmer had a hand in scoring points. The 10 & under relay of Abby Magee, Bindi Pedersen, Christina Domanowski, and Jensen Corbett took 7th in both the 200 Medley and Free relays. Christina Domanowski also scored points individually by winning the 200 free, taking 3rd in the 100 free, 4th in the 50 free, 50 fly, and 100 IM, and 7th in the 100 back.
The girls 13-14 age group scored a boat load of points. Their relay of Morgan Ginnis, Hannah Taylor, Jennifer Domanowski, and Kendall Vincelette scored the following: 400 free-2nd, 200 and 400 medley-3rd and 200 free-5th. They also made a Junior National Qualifying time in the 400 Medley Relay. Individually the girls were even more impressive. Jennifer won the 200 fly and the 1650 free by over 75 yards. She was also 2nd in the 400 IM and 3rd in the 100 fly, 200 IM, and 500 free. Morgan won the 50, 100 and 200 free, and was 3rd in the 200 back and 500 free, and 4th in the 100 back. Hannah Taylor had huge time drops the entire meet and took 2nd in the 100 and 200 breast, 3rd in the 400 IM, 6th in the 200 IM, and 7th in the 100 back.
The 15 & over boys had quick relays as well. The team of Gabe Lopez, Klayton Schaufler, Josh Estella, and Brody Coleman scored a 3rd in the 200 medley relay, 4th in the 400 medley, and 6th in the 200 free relay. Gabe also surpised the field with a big time drop to win the 100 back!
