Parent Meeting November 19, 2010

1.       Marlins Gear

a.       Will have prices out shortly in the form of an email and will have the information at the table.

b.      Plan to have deadline so orders will be ready by Christmas

2.       Karoline Coaching announcement

a.       USA swimming no longer allows coaches that are under 18 years old effective 1/1/2011

b.      Karoline turns 18 on October 1, 2011

c.       Kirby will fill in Karoline’s hours for the period of 1/1 to 10/1 of next year

d.      Karoline will help to film Swimmers to stay in touch with the swimmers

3.       Wrap up of October Challenge meet

a.       Successful meet

b.      Meet fee income was a little below budget, but concession income was above budget

c.       Good level of team participation, would like to continue the early challenge meet versus the Fall Divisional Champs, where many of our swimmers are not eligible.

d.      Painterman is our next meet April 16-17, need a good outcome to meet budget for the year.

4.       Marlins at Girls State

a.       All MPHS swimmers at State were Marlins and all but one at Districts

b.      1^st in the league and 1^st in districts.  11^th in state.

5.       Financial position of the team

a.       Team is doing well

b.      Income a little above budget and expenses right on budget.

c.       Need to keep up the momentum.

6.       Other Items

a.       Save the date April 15 for the short course banquet

b.      Suggestion was made to have an education session for parents and swimmers about what to do the day of a meet for rest, food and hydration.  Suggest is to have swimmers representatives communicate with the swimmers and Kirby discuss with the parents.

c.       Parent meetings are scheduled for the year, every two months.

Kirby

1.       Need to sign up for the 14 & U PNS champs and Washington State Champs

2.       Year is going well.

3.       Very few families are attending the Fall Divisional Champs
