Bindi Stars at Zone Championships!

From reporter Gary Pedersen! (Referring to the Western Zone Meet in California.)

“Kirby, Bindi said the trip, the area, the swimming were all awesome.  She met the top 10 year olds in the country.  She gave the top breaststroker and the top butterflyer a great race but finished second in both setting a new PNS record in the 100 breaststroke, 1:22:41 and a best time in the 100 fly of 1:11:71.  She got 2nd in the 200 IM with a new PNS record of 2:42:21, got third in the 200 free and won the 50 breast with a best time in the prelims of 38:80.  She got second in the 50 fly, and both relays took second.

The girl who beat Bindi in the 100 breast and the 200 IM practices for 5 hours a day with the Chinese National Team and her parents told my wife they came to the meet to set all the national records.

I would say Bindi did great and those swims moved her to number 3 in the country in USA swims extreme ranking.  The girl who beat her in the fly is number one.

Overall, any swimmer who can go to a meet like this would get a lot out of it because all the kids seem to thrive on everything going on around them.

Thanks, Gary

Congratulations to Bindi for representing the PNS and the Mighty Marlins with pride and class!!
