Marlins Star at AG Sectionals!!
Three Marlins won events, 7 took top 8 honors winning medals, and all 11 had best times as Marlins on route to an impressive 11th place finish in a field of over 400 teams in a 12 state area.
Bindi Pedersen led the scoring with firsts in the 50 breast, 100 and 200 fly and 200 IM, 2nd in the 100 breast, and 3rd in the 200 breast. All of her swims were among the tops in the nation this year for an 11 year old and her 200 fly was the fastest swim in the country this year.
Christina Domanowski was a 6 time medalist as well with 1st in the 200 fly, 2nd in the 200 free and 400 IM, 3rd in the 500 free and 200 IM, and 5th in the 200 back. Christina's 200 fly was a meet record as was Bindi's 50 breast and 100 fly!
Other medalists included: Jeffrey Lozensky with a decisive victory in the 1650 free, and 6th in the 200 and 500 free, 7th in the 200 fly, and 8th in the 400 IM. Abby Magee was a 5 time medalist with 3rd in the 200 fly, 7th in the 100 fly and 400 IM, and 8th in the 100 and 200 IM. Leah Taylor was 5th in the 100 breast, 6th in the 50 breast, 7th in the 100 IM, and 8th in the 200 IM. Colin Willis took 3rd in the 50 free, and 6th in the 100 free and fly, and Karoline Schaufler was 7th in the 200 fly!
The 400 Medley relay of Karlie Rimat, Bindi, Abby, and Mel Lofton was 6th and the 400 free relay with Toria Benson in place of Mel was also 6th! Andrew Winquist also swam well narrowly missing finals!
