Marlins Dominate at Districts-Off to State!

Trying to keep track of all the Mighty Marlins swimming at Girls District Meets this weekend proved to be quite a task!  However, it was spectacular to see all their hard work pay off with such great success.

For Lake Stevens at the 4A District meet Emily Jacobson had 2 top 6 finishes, Kara Libra had 2 top 12 finishes, Parker Reid was top 18 in 2 events, and Amanda Pan was top 18 in 1.  Emily and Kara are off to state as part of the high flying 200 and 400 free relay teams for the Vikings!

At the 3A meet the state qualifying swims were coming fast and furiously.  Melody Coleman led the way with victories in the 200 IM and 100 breast, Karlie Rimat won the 500 free, and Rachel Hartmeyer took the 100 fly in a thrilling race!  Placing in the top 3 and also making state were Karlie in the 200 IM, Rachel in the 500 free, and Abby Magee with 3rd place finishes in the 100 fly and 200 IM.

MP's 200 medley and 200 free relays of Melody, Madi Rossnagle, Rebekah Pusateri, and Abby are off to state as well.  Rebekah, Madi, and Ashlee Richmond also scored points for MP with 2 top 18 finishes each.

For MG Jordan Kercheval, and Lia Mullen-Gaffney both had strong top 18 finishes, and with Emma Beauchamp, and Rcahel took 6th and 7th in their relays.

Joining Karlie for Stanwood at state are Katie Hammer, Abby Spencer, and Joya Major as part of a strong 200 free relay. Katie, Abby, and Joya each took top 12 honors in two events to help lead Stanwood!

Congratulations Marlins as you competed against each other, and cheered for each other, at the High School District Championships.
