Parent Meeting Recap

MMSC Parent Meeting – May 28, 2014

  1. Why We Host Meets

-When we host a meet, we make money. Our rent at MPHS is close to $5000 a month. This does not include our coaching staff salaries (and they are some of the lowest paid coaches in PNS).Hosting successful meets is what helps keep us from raising our dues.

  1.  LC Meet at KCAC on June 21-22

-This is our trial run hosting a meet at KCAC.Important for everyone to help so we will be ready for the HUGE meet next March; Spring Divisional Champs, which has the potential to make $10,000 for our team!

-Jobs are posted on website.  Really need timers on Saturday for the older kids’ session.

-We need help from everyone – even on the day(s) your child isn’t swimming!

-There is no need for concessions at KCAC but a huge demand on hospitality.

-Older kids may camp with team at Dash Point State Park Saturday night and return to time Sunday morning.  Please let Kirby know if your child is camping with the team.

-Everyone entered in the meet is asked to bring 1 dozen cookies or brownies for hospitality.  Drop off with Jen Livingston at the meet.  (Jen will be at table by the heat sheets)

  1. Timing at Away Meets

-LC meets often will assign teams a lane for part or all of a meet for timing. When this happens, you are expected to help time if your child is entered in the meet.Be prepared to cover a 30-60 min. shift. We ALL must do our part.If our team doesn’t show up to time, we look bad and may not be invited back to that meet in the future.

  1. Apple Capital

-Timing schedule was mailed out to all attending meet (unless we knew that a parent was not attending). You are responsible for your time or making a trade with another team member.Failure to time or find a replacement will result in a $20 fine.

- We have one open spot, 5-6 Sunday, if anyone wants to time more.Let Julie know if you want the spot.
