Fall Parent Meeting Recap

  1. Board Member Introductions:

President – Julie Delaney, Vice President – Katy Magee, Treasurer – Jeri Rimat, Secretary – Suzi Elsner, Michelle Butler – Fundraising/Concessions, Mari Lozensky – Hospitality, Kristin Savidge – Volunteer Coordinator/Shirts and Caps, Amy Paxton – Volunteer Coordinator/Sponsorship, Kristi Jacobson – Sponsorship/Marketing, Andrea Williams

  1. Budget - rental fees, salaries, income – We are up about $4000 from where we were at this time last year.  This is due to the meet we hosted at KCAC in June.

Our monthly expenses:  Coaches - $4000 month, Pool rental -approx. $3987 month:

$13 per lane per hour, Tues/Thurs am $125 per hour

M/W/F am - 3 lanes, 1.5 hours

M/W pm – 5 lanes, 2 hours

T/Th pm – 5 lanes, 1 hour; 4 lanes, 1 hour

F – 6 lanes, 1.5 hours

T/Th am - $125 per hour, 1.5 hours (6 lanes)

**We need about 80 swimmers swimming at level B or higher to meet costs.  We currently have 70 swimmers.

  1. Navigating the website – see handout.  Please check website frequently and be sure to read the Marlins Matters to stay informed.
  2. Volunteer Opportunities - meets, food donations, fun run help, table, swim-a-thon lap counters, away meets (30 hours per family) Website has tab for reminder.  Food donations must be brand specific!
  3. Fun Run Jobs/Donations – now on website
  4. Team Table Schedule – sign up to work with an experienced member if you are new.  Next month’s calendar becomes available for sign up the last week of each month
  5. Volunteer Coordinator – check-in with coordinator at Clerk of Course table at meets in order to receive your hours credit
  6. See’s Candy Sales – November  $48 to cover 24 bars per family
  7. Athlete/Parent Protection Training – PNS would like all swimmers and parents to go through the interactive program on the PNS website.
  8. Sponsorship – Business ads on our scoreboard or heat sheets.  Contact Kristi Jacobson if your company or someone you know wants an ad
  9. December Meet – job sign ups beginning in Nov.
  10. Question/Answer Meetings once a month – Nov. 3 at 5:15 – 6:30 at Starbucks on 116th. If you have any topics you’d like covered, contact Julie Delaney
  11. Shop Swim Outlet through our site as our team gets a cut from each purchase made through our website
  12. Pumpkin Relays changed to Oct. 29.  No PM practice Oct. 30 – JV Champs
  13. Coaches – Kirby reminded everyone to be on time for practice and meets in order to get a quality warm-up.  Please check the website and read the Marlins Matters so you are informed and get your meet entries in on time.  After girls high school season is over, coaches will re-evaluate lane assignments to possibly balance the lanes if Kirby’s group does not grow in the evenings.  If you have questions about coaching or your swimmer, please contact the coach through email or set up to meet with them before or after practice.
