Allen Pringle finally put the Mighty Marlins on the board, with 4 points in the last event of the meet, the 50-breaststroke. Allen’s very fast clocking of 28.03 in that event earned him 13th place at the Senior Washington State Championships in Federal Way. He also narrowly missed making finals in the 100 and 200-breaststroke as well. His time of 25.24 in the 50-fly was also a personal best.

Jacob Christy also swam 4 events, with best times in the 400 IM and 50-breaststroke, and strong finishes in the 50 and 200-fly.

Gavin Plano had best times in all 4 of his events, the 50 free, back, and breast, and the 100-back, improving his placing in all those events.

All 3 boys mentioned, along with Riley Tallquist, also competed in 5 relays, the 200 and 400 medley and the 200, 400, and 800 free relays. Their relay swims were highlighted by a strong 400 free relay where each swimmer swam a 53 second 100.

Hallie Higgins opted for all the tough events. She swam the 400 IM, 200 fly and breaststroke, and the 100 breast. She improved her placing in 3 of the 4 events.

Anna Paul, swimming her second championship in the last 2 weekends, swam the 500 free, 50 and 100 breaststroke and the 50 fly, with best times in the 50 fly and a big time drop in the 100-breast.

Hallie and Anna competed in relays as well.

The team of Alora de Vera, Anna Paul, Hallie Higgins and Sarah Zastoupil did the 400 medley relay, with Katelyn Darrah taking Anna’s place in the 200 medley relay. The 200, 400, and 800 free relays featured Anna, Alora and Sarah in all 3 with Hallie anchoring the 200 free relay, Sophie Plano anchoring the 400 free relay and Katelyn Darrah anchoring the 800 free relay.

Their best relay was also the 400 free relay, where each swimmer was right at their personal best.

The meet was a great chance for our Marlins to compete against some of the fastest swimmers in the country!

Way to go Mighty Marlins!
