Bolu Ojo Finals at Spring Derby!
Bolu Ojo led the way at the KING Spring Derby in Federal Way. Bolu was the only Marlin that made the finals, in the only prelims-finals event, the 50 free. Bolu ended up 5th in that, and also tallied top 10 finishes in the 100 free-7th, and 8th in the 100 back and 50 fly. Ava Thompson also had multiple top 10 finishes: 1500 free-2nd, 400 free & 200 back-7th, 100 back-8th, and 200 free-9th. Allen Pringle took: 3rd in the 50 breast, 5th in the 200, and 9th in the 100. Ben Clark was 4th in the 50 back, (Thanks to his using his head, effectively, on the finish), 5th in the 200 breast, and 9th in the 50 free. Jacob Christy was 8th in the 50 breast, and 9th in the 200 breast & Fly. Layne Kopischka was 3rd in the 50 breast and 10th in the 200. Alora de Vera was 5th in the 50 back, and 9th in the 50 fly. Anna Paul took 8th in the 50 and 200 breast. In the 50 fly Asher Wilson was 4th, Ryan Christy 6th, and Sophie Plano 10th. Katherine Carlson added a 9th in the 50 back.
Kadie Whall scored 4 best times at the meet and Ava Wright had 3. Gavin Plano also swam well.
Ava Thompson qualified for PNS Champs in 4 events at the meet, Allen Pringle hit 3 PNS Champs times, Jacob Christy had 1, and Ben Clark added his first PNS Champs time. Three Marlins made the Champs times but will age up before the meet and thus are not qualified: Bolu Ojo, Layne Kopischka, and Alora de Vera.
This was a great showing for our first Long Course Meet of the year!
Way to go Mighty Marlins!
