The Mighty Marlins competed in 3 meets in the last week. June 20-22 they were at the StingRay invitational in Snohomish. The weekend of June 26-28 they were at the Senior Seattle Open in West Seattle, and a dual meet with Storm in Lake Stevens.
At the StingRay invite, 19 Marlins combined for 70 best times. Asher Wilson led the way with 7 best times. Katherine Carlson, and Ryane Wright had 6 each. Swimmers with 5 best times were: Kadie Whall, Jules Wilson, and Zach Mullen. Jacob and Ryan Christy, Bolu Ojo, and Clara Davidson each had 4 best times. Swimmers with 3 best times were: Sophia Whall, Mac Menzies, and Luke Mullen. Ben Clark, Rylee Whall, Alex Williams, and Hannie Wilson had 2 best times each, and Whitney Bianchi, ands Layne Kopischka each had 1 best time!
Great improvement for our hard-working Marlins.
At the Senior Seattle Open the star of the show was coach and swimmer Madelynn Butler. She bullied her way to a 3rd place finish in the 50 free and fly, and was second in the 100 free. The only other Marlins to crack the top 8 were Jacob Christy taking 3rd in the best event, the 200 fly, and Allen Pringle with an 8th in the 100 breaststroke!
At the NCSSL Dual Meet several Marlins came away with victories. Clara Davidson and Ryane Wright had 3 each. Luke Mullen and Kadie Whall had 2 each, and Whitney Bianchi, Seth Davidson, Rylee and Sophia Whall, and Hannie and Jules Wilson had 1 victory each. Other Marlins with multiple top 6 finishes included: Ryan Christy, Cali Gallagher, Caysen Jensen-Ozuna, Lilly Lam, Zach Mullen, Talin Warrington, and Aaron Ybarra. Also, Gabriella Sherwood swam well in her first meet ever!
Way to go Mighty Marlins!
