Marlins Strong at NCSSL Champs!
The Mighty Marlins hosted the NCSSL Champs Meet in Snohomish this weekend. The meet was a huge success thanks to the massive volunteer efforts of the Marlin parents and swimmers. Only 2 timers were treated for EFF after the meet (Excessive Finger Fatigue).
The swimmers had a great meet as well! Several Marlins had individual wins. Hallie Higgins and Luke Mullen each won the 100 fly. Sophia Whall won the 100 free, Eugene McCarthy the 50 breast, and Alora de Vera the 100 back. Other Marlins with top 6 finishes included, Rylee Whall with 3, Zach Mullen, Sophie Plano, Hannie Wilson, and Ryane Wright 2 each, and Clara Davidson, Kadie Whall, and Aaron Ybarra 1 each.
The Marlins had many top 6 relays. The group of Seth Davidson, Rylee Whall, Clara Davidson, and Owen Thompson took 3rd in the medley relay and 4th in the free relay for 8 & unders. The 9-10 year old medley relay of Sophia Whall, Eugene McCarthy, Jules Wilson and Sam Nelson was 5th. That same relay with Whitney Bianchi in for Jules Wilson was 4th in the free relay.
For the older swimmers, the medley relay of Alora de Vera, Aaron Ybarra, Hallie Higgins and Luke Mullen took 2nd, and with Zach Mullen in for Aaron, in the final race of the meet the Marlins had a thrilling victory in the 200 free relay. The medley relay of Zach Mullen, Sophie Plano, Ryane Wright, and Talin Warrington was 5th, and the free relay of Ava Wright, Malakai Kowalczik, Ryan Christy and Ryane Wright was also 5th.
