Marlins Strong at Washington State Champs!
Mighty Marlins Swimmers had huge time drops at the Washington State Senior Championships in Federal Way this weekend. Jacob Christy led the way with time drops in all 6 of his races. Highlighted by a very fast 1:58.00 in the 200 butterfly, in which he narrowly missed finals, moving up from his seed placing of 31st to 27th. He also moved up 13 places in the 100-butterfly, 26 in the 400-IM, 27 in the 200-breaststroke, and 10 in the 50-breaststroke. Gavin Plano had time drops in the 50-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, and 50-breaststroke moving up over 7 places in each event.
Anna Paul dropped over 4 seconds in her 200-breaststroke moving up 21 places. She also had a time drops in the 50-breaststroke. Hallie Higgins dropped a whopping .01 seconds in the 200-butterfly and moved up 3 places and dropped 10 seconds in the 400-IM moving up 14 places. Hallie and Katherine Carlson both dropped time in the 50-freestyle, each moving up over 15 places.
Katherine and Hallie, along with Anna, and Alora de Vera, showed well in their relays. In each, they moved up 6 or more places, highlighted by Alora’s very quick anchor swims in the freestyle legs of the medley relays. It was a great meet for our up and coming Marlins!
