Marlins Fantastic "Start" to 2026!
Mighty Marlins “Start” something in Federal Way this weekend at the Washington Open. (Note the pictures!!) What they started was reaching high levels of competition and doing quite well. 55 teams from 8 different states sent their best swimmers to the meet. In nearly every event they swam, Marlins had best times and vastly improved their placing. Jacob Christy swam his way into the finals in the 200-fly taking 19th overall. Gavin Plano hit a Sectionals time in the 100-breaststroke with a very fast 1:02.50 clocking. Katherine Carlson made a PNS Champs time in the 200-fly. Alora de Vera improved in 4 of her events, and all the Marlins, Jacob, Gavin, Katherine, Alora, and Anna Paul had best times in the 100 free. Both Gavin and Jacob hit 51’s in the 100 free and Anna and Katherine swam 58’s with Alora swimming a 57.
