ABOUT THE WESTERN WAHOOS

Western Wahoos Mission Statement: Our mission is to help build honest, caring, responsible, and respectful young adults through a competitive swim team program. Our dedicated, trained, and experienced coaching staff will guide each swimmer through technical training to compete at his or her highest potential. With an emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship we will prepare swimmers for a lifetime of success both in and out of the water.

2023 Silver Club Exellence Award

The Club Excellence Program is a program that identifies and recognizes USA Swimming member clubs for its commitment to performance excellence.

The primary objectives of the program are to recognize and promote:

  • The development of strong, well-rounded age group and senior swimming programs that produce elite 18 & under athletes;
  • Resources to motivate and assist USA Swimming member clubs to achieve the highest athlete performance ideals;
  • Grant funding; and The USA Swimming club development system as integral part in achieving excellence in the sport.

 

2021 Long Course National Title 

The Western YMCA Wahoos Swim Team had a breakout performance at the YMCA Long Course National Festivial . The Wahoos placed 6th overall combined, 3rd for men, 14th for women, and brought home National titles in three events, making it their best performance in the team’s 50-year history.
