EXPECATIONS
WHITE
Practice sets will consist of mostly 25’s and 50’
Learn how to swim all 4 strokes legally
Learn how to dive off the starting blocks
Introduce equipment such as kickboards, fins, and pull buoy
BLUE 1 & 2
Practice sets will consist of mostly 25’s and 50’s with occasionally 100’s
Learn how to swim all 4 strokes legally and focus on fine tuning technique
Learn how to dive off the starting blocks
Introduce equipment such as paddles, fins, buoy, etc.
Learn the basics of flip turns and open turns
PURPLE 1 & 2
Practice sets will consist of mostly 25’s, 50’s and 100’s
Swimmers will be expected to understand the workout written on the whiteboard
Swimmers will be expected to read the clock and understand intervals
Compete with teammates during practice to get used to swimming at race pace
Work on flip turns consistently during practice
Introduce underwater dolphin kicking, work on breath control
Incorporate parachutes/cords to work on resistance training
Train for longer events such as 100’s of each stroke, and 100 IM
SILVER
Practice sets will consist of mostly 50’s and 100’s with occasionally longer distances
Swimmers will be expected to understand the workout written on the whiteboard
Swimmers will be expected to read the clock and understand intervals
Compete with teammates during practice to get used to swimming at race pace
Train underwater dolphin kick often, develop the skill to use in racing
Build endurance to prepare for multi-day meets with many events each day
Incorporate parachutes/cords to work on resistance training
Train for longer events: 100s of stroke, 200 Free and 200 IM
BLACK 1 & 2
Practice sets will consist of all distances from 50s up to 200s and above
Swimmers will be able to understand workouts with intervals
Build endurance for swimming longer events at meets
Practice swimming at race pace on a daily basis
Hold teammates to a high standard at practice
Train underwater dolphin kick daily, develop the skill to use in racing
Incorporate parachutes/cords to work on resistance training
Focus on training for 50’s, 100’s and 200’s of each stroke, 200 IM
