Mid-Maine Dolphins Locker Room Monitoring Policy
The Mid-Maine Dolphins are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and positive environment for all athletes. In accordance with the U.S. Center for SafeSport and USA Swimming’s MAAPP, we maintain the following locker room monitoring policy:
Locker Room Use & Monitoring
-
The locker rooms are to be used for changing, restroom needs, and showering only.
-
Coaches and staff may conduct periodic and random monitoring of locker rooms to ensure safety and appropriate behavior. Monitoring will be done by multiple adults whenever possible and will respect athletes’ privacy.
-
Parents are encouraged to supervise younger athletes in the locker room as needed.
-
No team meetings or gatherings will take place inside the locker rooms.
Prohibited Conduct
-
Bullying, hazing, harassment, or any form of misconduct is strictly prohibited.
-
The use of recording devices (phones, cameras, etc.) in locker rooms is not allowed under any circumstances.
-
Athletes should report any concerns immediately to a coach, staff member, or SafeSport representative.
Reporting Misconduct
-
Suspected misconduct will be taken seriously, documented, and reported following USA Swimming and U.S. Center for SafeSport requirements.
-
Reports may be made directly to the team’s SafeSport Coordinator, USA Swimming, or the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
-
Retaliation against anyone who reports misconduct in good faith is prohibited.
By following this policy, our team ensures locker rooms remain safe spaces that promote respect, safety, and wellbeing for all swimmers.
