The YMCA Swim Alliance offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the YMCA Swim Alliance here to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Swim Prep Team (Offered at Springs, Camp Moody)
The Swim Prep level group is an entry level program that bridges the gap between swim lessons and swim team. This level allows swimmers to become comfortable at swimming actual laps and understand competitive swim strokes. Plus it’s a lot of fun!
- 2-4 Practices a week (30 min practices)(practices days and times vary by location)
- Equipment - Kickboard
Bronze Team (Offered at Springs, Camp Moody, Townlake)
The Bronze level group is great for swimmers who want to take swimming competitively more seriously. This is a great start for swimmers who swim in a summer league or want to join a team. This age level group will focus on the fundamentals of all four strokes through techniques, drills, team etiquette and behavior. Meet participation is expected and offered every 4-6 weeks.
- 4 Practices a week (45 min-1 hr practices)(practices days and times vary by location)
- Equipment - Kickboard and fins
Silver Team (Offered at Springs, Camp Moody, Townlake)
The Silver level group builds the fundamentals of the bronze group. This group will be more advanced drills and training techniques to improve overall in the water. Silver group will work on legal turns, use of diving blocks, and have a goal of reaching B times at meets. Swimmers in this level are encouraged to attend 4 practices and meets.
- 5 Practices a week (45min-1 hr practices)(practices days and times vary by location)
- Equipment - Kickboard, Fins, Buoy
- Work on "B", and "BB" Times at Meets
Gold Team (Offered at Springs, Camp Moody, Townlake)
The Gold team level is designed to grow each swimmer’s fitness level through endurance, dry land exercises, and racing skills while at the same time building the swimmers confidence. The goal of this level of swimming is to build strength, knowledge and technique in each stroke while going through a more rigorous training as we prepare the swimmer to compete at the state level. Attending practice, drylands and meets are recommended.
- 5 Practices a week (1-2 hr practices)(practices days and times vary by location)
- 2-3 Drylands a week
- Equipment - Mesh Bag, Kickboard, Fins, Buoys, Paddles, Snorkel, Cap
- Compete at the State Level
National Team (Offered at Springs, Camp Moody)
The National team level is for swimmers 14-18 who are already excelling at the high school level. This level will coincide with swimmers who compete on a high school team or want to compete at the highest level as they prepare for meets at the state, sectional and national levels. The goal of this level is to provide a more challenging practice, strength in and out of the water, detail focus on races and improving endurance. Swimmers at this level will be expected to attend at least 4 practices and a 1 dry land every week, as well as meets.

- 2-3 Drylands a week
- Equipment - Mesh Bag, Kickboard, Fins, Buoys, Paddles, Snorkel, Cap, Dry land clothes
- Compete a State, Sectional, and Nationals Level
