LY Timing System Fundraising Campaign

Many factors have contributed to the success of our team in recent years. We have hard-working and motivated swimmers, eager coaches, and tremendously supportive parents and volunteers. With those ingredients, we have been able to build a team ranked in the top 5% of clubs in USA Swimming and recently qualified a swimmer for the U.S. Olympic Trials for the 2nd time in our history.
Our LY swimmers have the opportunity to compete in local meets that we host at our home pool, the Jamerson YMCA. These meets help build our swimmers' skills, physical capabilities, and confidence to compete at the regional, state, national, and potentially international levels. The timing system and associated hardware that we use to run meets is approximately 20 years old. We purchased this equipment in used condition many years ago, and it is beginning to fail. In order to continue to provide the OPPORTUNITY to our team and to the surrounding teams that participate in our meets, we need to replace the entire system. Our aim is to continue to be able to run top-notch meets for the next few generations of LY swimmers so that we can build upon our successful 62-year history. To do this, we need your help!
We are seeking donations from LY families and local businesses.
Fundraising Goals
Here are the specific items we need, with a total price tag of $94,440:
- 18 Aquagrip Timing Touchpads & Brackets + Shipping = $20,540.00 PURCHASED 10 OUT OF 18!
- 8-Lane Multi-line Swim Scoreboard + Shipping = $10,300.00
- Colorado Gen 7 Sports Timer + Shipping = $6,300.00
- 2 x 8-Lane Touchpad Cables/Harness + Shipping = $8,940.00
- 16 x Backup timing buttons = $1,440.00
- Champion Series Starting System with Microphone, Tripod, and Strobe = $1,920.00
- Installation costs and recognition of corporate and private donors = $4,000.00
- Replacing tops of the starting blocks (for better traction) = $10,000.00
- New meet manager laptop computer = $1,000.00 PURCHASED!
- Underwater video camera systems (for technique work during practice at both facilities) = ~$20,000
- Retractable Backstroke Starting Wedges = ~$8,000
Recognition:
- Private donors will be recognized on a sign near the new scoreboard.
- Corporate donors:
- Logo/ad placement on top of scoreboard - $10,000.00 donation
- Ad/sign around perimeter of scoreboard - $5,000.00 donation
- Ad/sign posted along lane 8 wall - $3,000.00 donation
- Recognition as listed donor on sign near scoreboard - $1,000.00 donation
