The YMCA of Snohomish County Stingrays is an adaptive swim team intended for youth and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. We practice year-round, and we participate in Special Olympics Washington swim meets, Our swim season is February through June.
Currently practices are held on Friday or Saturday mornings at the Mukilteo YMCA, and thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers we are able to give a lot of one-on-one attention. We also encourage parent participation, particularly for some of our younger swimmers.
Athletes should be at least 5 years old and able to independently either walk or swim 25 yards. If you are looking for beginner swim lessons, please consider our group swim lessons or private lessons at all of our branches.
For more information about possible practice times, team fit for your swimmer, or volunteering please contact Volunteer Coach Jim Russell.
