Mission Statement

We are committed in providing a safe, positive and healthy environment.  We strive to build and maintain a superior community-based athletic program that provides a sound competitive environment for our children.

Desert Aquatics is a member of USA Swimming that provides a fantastic outlet for young swimmers to not only develop their technical swimming skills but also to develop important life skills throughout their journey in and around the pool. We train at Silverado High School, located at 14048 Cobalt Rd, Victorville, CA 92392, however due to COVID 19 restrictions we currently use our temporary facility at Lime Street Park in Hesperia, Ca. 

The team currently consists of four different training groups that are broken out by ability level.  Desert Aquatics focuses on quality coaching in order to provide each swimmer with the most appropriate and challenging workout while he or she is developing technical proficiency across the four competitive strokes.  Desert Aquatics does everything possible to deliver the best learning and training environment it can for its swimmers.  

Coaching Philosophy and Core Values:

COMMITMENT, OWNERSHIP, RESPONSIBILITY, and EXCELLENCE:  These are a set of principals and behaviors of all our members and coaching staff on a day to day basis. When followed, these principals increase the likelihood of fulfillment and success not only in swimming but also in general life. As such, these values are appropriate at all levels of the program, from coaches to swimmers and parents/guardians.  

COMMITMENT: To achieve personal and team goals, each coach, swimmer, and parent/guardian is expected to be committed to the Desert Aquatics swimming program.  Commitment is to have a clear goal and personal investment in reaching this goal.  A part of this process is to know and accept what the current situation is, and the necessary development steps to achieve success.  100% commitment allows all athletes to reach their personal goals, contribute toward team goals, and creates a can-do culture for athletes to maximize their potential.   

OWNERSHIP & RESPONSIBILITY:  100% commitment is more likely to be attained when we all take ownership of what we are trying to achieve.  Only then can athletes truly take responsibility for their actions.  Honest, open, and trusting relationships foster a safe environment for athletes and families to thrive.  The Head Coach takes ownership and responsibility for the strategic direction of the Desert Aquatics competitive swimming program. Desert Aquatics Coaching Staff aims to provide a challenging environment for swimmers, set appropriate targets, and give technical advice for stroke development to support maximizing each athletes potential.  Coaches will act in an honest, professional, and transparent manner. always putting the needs of the program first.  Athletes within the Desert Aquatics organization must take ownership of their behavior in training and competition performance.  This includes taking care of themselves before and after practice through a healthy lifestyle and diet.  Swimmers demonstrate commitment by arriving on time and ready to practice with a "can-do" attitude. 

EXCELLENCE: Achieving personal excellence requires giving full effort to a specific goal by continually challenging a personal best.  The process is built upon a well thought out commitment, acceptance of responsibility, and a desire to win.  Desert Aquatics is committed to your athlete's personal goals.  Together we can continue to make our best even better!  GO DESERT!!!!
