The sport of swimming relies heavily on the involvement of its families. Your participation is necessary to ensure the continued success of our team and to ensure athletes have access to quality programming and meets which will foster their development.

Hour Requirements:

Each family is required to volunteer 10 hours per year. Any hours not worked will be billed to you at a rate of $10/hour at the end of our fiscal year, March. 

Hours will be tracked in Team Unify and reported to families. It is your responsibility to be sure your hours worked are accounted for. We recommend signing up directly in TU, under the posted job, but if that is not possible, you must communicate your hours in writing to the club email address ([email protected]) so that our Volunteer coordinator can assist you in adding them.

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are a variety of volunteer positions available throughout the year.  Some of these positions are ongoing (board of directors), while others are oriented around a specific function or event (socials, swim meets, fundraisers).  It takes many volunteer hours, and every parent, to make WWSC the successful youth organization it has become. Please consider how you can use your strengths and skills to help (team photographer?)

Here are some examples:

• Board members
• Committee members
• Timing at swim meets (AK Swimming, Central Area, or WWSC)
• Other volunteer positions at swim meets (AK Swimming, Central Area, or WWSC)
• Officiating at swim meets (training required)
• Computer Operator (training required)
• Fundraising (official capacity)
• Party planning
• If donations for concessions are needed, food & supply donations will count toward volunteer time at a rate of ½ hour per donation.
