About Us

Arcadia Riptides is a year-round, competitive age group swim team and one of the oldest active swim teams in Southern California.  We are a member club of USA Swimming and its regional affiliate, Southern California Swimming.   We are in the Metro Division of Southern California Swimming.

The club's tradition of team pride and personal excellence was started in 1965 by Arcadia High School's Hall of Fame Coach Ray Peterson

During his tenure as the Varsity Swimming and Water Polo coach, his teams won multiple Pacific League titles and CIF Championships.  His contributions to the swimming community extended to the Riptides as well as the City of Arcadia.

Today the tradition continues with swimmers who have not only excelled in the water but in their communities as responsible citizens and exceptional student athletes.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors who are committed to providing a safe, fun, and fair experience where children can learn the values of sportsmanship, goal setting, and friends for life.

Mission
To promote exceptional student athletes by providing high quality professional coaching and technique instruction in competitive swimming for youth ages 6-18 and foster participation in Southern California Swimming, the regional affiliate for USA Swimming.
