June Schedule Reminder- starts TODAY, 6/2
I have included the next 4 weeks of practice schedule at the bottom of the email.
*AGDev2, StrokeDev2, & Age Group Prep- NO dryland on days you begin at 8pm, YES dryland on days you begin at 6pm.
HYDRATION!!
As the weather is heating up, it's even more crucial to make sure your swimmers bring water with them to practice. If they are doing dryland, they should bring TWO bottles. Even though they are in the pool, they are still sweating!
Open Water Sundays- starting Sunday, 6/8
It's time again! Come swim with us! We will be swimming in Los Alamitos Bay, which is salt water, but is protected from waves, and a bit warmer than the open ocean. Older swimmers will meet at 8am and swim the 1 mile loop around Naples Island, and younger swimmers will swim ~1/2 to 3/4 mile, just off the shore. Keep and eye out for a more detailed email from Coach Kelin regarding these swims!
Team Swimsuits! 6/9 & 6/10
We have (finally!) been able to make team suits happen! Conejo Swimworks will be at the Norman Johnson pool on Monday 6/9 from 7-9pm, and at the Arcadia HS pool on Tuesday, 6/10 from 6-8pm. You are welcome to come to the fitting at either location, even if you are not scheduled for practice that day. NOTE! The suit fittings are not required- if you already know your swimsuit size, you can just order from the website.
ARSC Beach Day- Saturday, 6/21
In lieu of Saturday practice, on Saturday 6/21 at Corona del Mar state beach. We will meet at 8AM, do some beach warm-up and exercises, then we will hit the waves, and do some open water practice! ALL Riptides are encouraged to attend! Even if you swimmer isn't sure about ocean swimming, still come! Even if they are just comfortable going knee-deep, we will make it happen :) RSVP on the website.
Summer Break 7/28-8/3- no practice this week. Practice will resume Monday, 8/3
Save the Date- Awards Banquet- Saturday, 8/30

Swimmer Shout Outs!
Amazing performance by Arya Kiang (12) who was among the top finishers at Speedo Grand Challenge just over a week ago, including a mindblowing 50 Breaststroke, where she placed 3rd, finishing behind 1st place by only .02 seconds!
HUGE Congratulations to Chloe Tam (13) for qualifying for Sectionals in the 100 Breast this past weekend! Our Sectionals roster is up to four athletes, with several more right on the cusp of qualifying!! It's a huge accomplishment for our athletes, and is the result of both Coach Olga's remarkable training, and the swimmers' hard work and dedication to the sport!
