Advanced squad practices six or more times per week in 2 hour sessions, so there is a considerable amount of commitment and dedication to the team and to the sport of swimming. It represents the transformation from an age group swimmer to a senior athlete, practicing all earlier group requirements as they progress further. The swimmer is now responsible for more of their training responsibilities, carry a larger share of the responsibility for their own swimming, monitoring their performances, and communicating with the coach on a regular basis.
They will also learn guidance from the coaching staff, effectively communicate questions, ideas and concerns to the coaching staff, provide support to peers and have a sound work ethic to achieve personal goals.
Advanced swimmers should be training at least 5 days per week.
