SCS Club Championships - Day Three

SCS Club Championships concluded on Monday, February 18th after three awesome days of competition.  

The 200 freestyle races kicked off the day with Ryan O'Shaughnnessey and Alex Crisera representing BCS.  Ryan swam the Boys 5-10 age group for a 22nd place finish in prelims and a time of 2:20.14 and Alex swam the Girls 11-12 age group dropping 1.61 seconds for a best time of 2:05.99.  GREAT SWIM!!

Kai Scarlet competed next in the Boys 5-10 100 fly.  He dropped .36 seconds off of his seed time in prelims and finished 4th overall in the finals that night.  Kai's best time in the 100 fly is now a 1:08.28.  Great job, Kai!

The final prelims race of the day featured Ryan and Kai, swimming the Boys 5-10 50 breast stroke.  Kai finished 10th overall in prelims locking in the second alternate position for finals and Ryan finished finished closed behind his teammate with a 15th overall finish in prelims!  Way to go!!

The 11-12 boys medley relay shined during the finals session on Monday night and featured Caleb Gorman on the backstroke leg, Sean Keegan on the breast stroke leg, Ethan Endicott on the butterfly leg, and Ethan Smith bringing it home on the freestyle leg.  The boys raced to a best time of 2:04.48, a time drop of 1.51 seconds, and an 11th place finish, overall.  

The 13-14 girls made their final appearance in the 200 medley relay and dropped a breath taking 6.07 seconds off of their best time for a time of 1:57.25 and a 13th overall finish.  Backstroker Kathryn Doyle, breastroker Sophie Kuehler, butterflyer Riley Farrell and freestyler Jennie Bao did an amazing job!

Beach Cities finished 36th out of 75!  This is a AMAZING considering we only had 2 swimmers qualify last year!  Beach Cities is on the rise and your coaches are very proud of all of the hard work that has gone into preparing for this championship meet!
