JAG 2014 - Day Two

June Age Group Championships continued on Friday for day two of fast swimming.  The older kids continued to shine and the 12&U joined the group and set the standards high.

Alex Crisera, Nikki Cooper, and Riley Farrell kicked off the days’ time drops.  Alex finished 15th overall with a best time of 4:53.20 and Nikki dropped an incredible 30 seconds for a best time of 5:02.37.  Riley finished 10th overall with a best time of 4:46.20.  WAY TO GO GIRLS!!

The timed finals session for the 12&U got off to a slow start but the kids showed marked improvements once they got their first race under their belts.  The 100 back was the second race of the day and the time drops were impressive.  Ryan O’Shaughnessey raced the first best time of 1:24.84.  Jamie Brennan also swam the 100 back and raced to a best time of 1:31.47.  Matthew Cullen dropped a second for a best time of 1:24.19, Zach Yakubik dropped 1.78 seconds for a best time of 1:26.38, Mason McEwen dropped over 3 seconds for a best time of 1:28.11, and Evan Herr (THE BIRTHDAY BOY) dropped 1.5 seconds for a best time of 1:30.54.  GREAT SWIMMING!!

The next event of the timed finals session was the 100 breast and Ryan O’Shaughnessey dropped nearly 5 seconds for a best time of 1:30.89.  Mason McEwen dropped over 5 seconds for a best time of 1:39.71.  WAY TO RACE, BOYS!!    

The final event of Friday was the 50 fly.  Matthew Cullen represented the group well with a 2.21 second time drop for a best time of 38.80.
