JAG 2014 - Day One

June Age Group Championships, also known as JAG, kicked off in Ventura this week and Beach Cities Swimming had 32 athletes qualify and attend.  The meet kicked off this Thursday and all swimmers have represented well.

Kai Bathurst led off the time drops in the 200 free with a 2.92 second drop for a best time 2:16.64.  Alex Crisera and Shannon O’Brien both made it back for finals in the 200 back.  Both girls placed and dropped time.  Alex finished 3^rd overall dropping 3.16 seconds and Shannon finished 6^th overall dropping 2.17 seconds.   

The distance events on Thursday were no disappointment.  Alex Crisera swam to a 7^th place finish and a best time of 10:03.31.  Nikki Cooper dropped over 14 seconds for an 11^th place finish and a best time of 10:13.04.  Keiko Derikoletis blew it out of the park and dropped over a minute for a best time of 10:50.00.  Sean Keegan represented for the sectional boys and dropped a minute and a half for a 21^st place finish and a best time of 10:04.04.  GREAT SWIMS!
