Welcome to Beach Cities Alpha

Pier to Pier is Dominated by Beach Cities Swimming

The Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim is one of the most popular long distance swims in the United States.  Last year over 1100 swimmers completed this grueling two-mile course and this year over 1200 competed.  Swimmers enter the water on the south side of the 10th Street Lifeguard Tower (South of the Hermosa Beach Pier).  They swim round the Pier, parallel to shore then round the Manhattan Beach Pier and finish on the beach.

Beach Cities brough a slew of athletes to race the course and we came out strong and NOTICED due to our BRIGHT NEON GREEN OPEN WATER CAPS. The coolest thing about this years Pier to Pier race is that our swimmers brought their PARENTS along for the swim... not to just CHEER but to race along side them.  Congratulations to all the swimmers and athletes that signed up, competed, and finished hand in hand with their teammates, parents and coaches!!  Thank you to the swimmers and parents that didn't swim but came to the finish to cheer for us!!  A huge gigantic massive enormous THANK YOU to all the paddlers that kept us safe that day.  Thank you to Karynne Thim, Jeff Yakubik, Kai Scarlet, Shannon O'Brien, and other family friends that paddled for Beach Cities on Sunday!  And last but not least... thank you to the two sharks that swam kindly below us and kept us safe from the Dolphins :)) ... thank you for letting us swim in your home and for not coming up for a nibble!!
