BEACH CITIES TAKES TOP PLACE'S AT IMR/IMX

This past weekend Beach Cities Swimming participated in the 2014 Penguins Aquatics Club IMR/IMX Power Point Meet at the South Gate Swim Stadium! This two day meet was jammed packed with quick paced events; probably the fastest meet BCS has been to in regards to time between events. The IMR/IMX meet special for many reasons, not only was the structure of the meet different but the swimming environment was also something that BCS is not usually accustomed to. Regardless or the obstacles, BCS swam like true high performance athletes under the different competitive environment! A warm water indoor pool, no backstroke flags in warm-ups, extra chlorine, short time line with back to back races, and plenty of new events that our swimmers never thought were possible, couldn’t hold our BCS swimmers back from giving it their all and performing at the top!! The BCS coaching staff is proud of how our swimmers swam under pressure. Our team took an impressive 57 swimmers to this meet... some who had never competed at a swim meet before and most who were new to this fast paced meet structure and scoring system. 

Out of all of our swimmer that competed we took home 4 plaques.. WOW!! This meet is structured based on USA Swimming's IMX system and includes two divisions to encourage a breadth of swimming skills: IM Ready (IMR) and IM Xtreme (IMX). BCS swimmers either swam IMR or IMX. Under these divisions, points were awarded for each event. 

Congratulations to Mackenzie Brack for taking 1^st place and Jack O’Shaughnessy for taking 3^rd place in the IMR Scoring division!

Congratulations to Bradley Diaz for taking 1^st place and Matthew Cullen for taking 3^rd place in the IMX 12 and under Scoring division!
