2022 Summer Sectionals Recap
The team did some really nice work this past weekend in Riverside and Santa Clarita. It was super hot in both destinations and the competition was too! BCS came away with a 6th place finish overall at Sectionals, not bad for only having 11 kids at the meet. Best times were achieved, new cuts were made and we were able to put together 4 relays that qualified for Junior Nationals on the Women’s side!
Ryan Haddad - Ryan wrapped up his stint in CA with a very successful meet, grabbing 5 of 6 best times along the way and chipping away at some of his goals. Well done Maestro.

Mikki Maemura - Mikki did not have the meet of her dreams, but as it turns out she was battling the beginning phases of COVID. She was unaware of this but felt off. She charged hard and unbeknownst to us, she was really sick. Great job under the circumstances and we hope she is well soon.

Kyle Capili - Kyle had a standout meet for sure, crushing some big swims and an amazing triple finish with Jack and Ryan in the 2IM. Another impressive day was his double 100 back straight into his 4IM. He was 5 for 5 on individual events at this meet.

Relays - Kyle pulled his weight for his team on all the men’s relays
Sammie Hall - Sammie has a super solid meet as well. Her Freestyle has really come around. She broke a minute for the first time in the 100 free and made and was our 4th for a Juniors Relay.

Delaney Herr – Delaney had a challenging meet coming off of a couple meets where she swam well. She had best times at SMOC and again at JAG, which makes it really challenging to drop again in a short amount of time. She has some swims coming up at Juniors this week and hoping the extra rest will pay off.

100 Back - 1:08.1
200 Back - 2:27.4

Roger Brown
50 Free - 24.9 just off his best, but Roger did a good big brother deed and showed up to keep his brother Fred company for his inaugural sectionals swim. It was fun to have him for a bit this summer. Well done Rog!
James Coyne - James had a couple great swims here, most notably his 200 free, 100 fly and relay leg with the boys. He was dropping all kinds of time along the way. Well done James.
50 Free - 26.34
100 Free - 56.33
200 Free - 2:04.18 for a drop of 4
100 Fly TT - 1:01.69 with a drop of 2.22
400 Free Relay - 55.60 split on the lead off leg for a best time
Fred Brown - Fred raced at Sectionals after spending 3 days at JO's. He made the trek to Santa Clarita to race with his older brother Roger in the 50 Free. Fred had snagged a best time in the 50 at JO's with a 25.55 and added a bit at Sectionals. The racing experience at the next level is always worthwhile.
Have a great weekend! Don't forget to tune into USA Swimming and watch some great racing from Irvine. If you can make it down there, even better!
