Pacific Committee Championships Recap (February 24-26, 2023)

Tim Murphy

Pacific Committee Championships @ Rose Bowl (February 24-26, 2023)
Not only did the 82 BCS athletes at last weekend’s Pacific Committee Championships in Pasadena have to compete against a very deep and talented field in the pool, but they also had to tangle with Mother Nature herself.  Turns out Mother Nature is not undefeated, because our brave competitors churned up that Rose Bowl water to produce many outstanding results, which we are excited to share with you below!

Beach 1
Fiona Cooley (9-10 Girls)
Miss Cooley is new to competitive swimming and, as far as we can tell, she is loving every minute.  Braving the elements, she raced four individual events and one time trial, including a massive 4 second improvement in the 100 Breast (14th place).  Looking forward to tracking her performance at the Finale this Saturday.  Way to go, Fiona!

Kavya Kachhadia (9-10 Girls)
Miss Kachhadia, or newest team member, put her best foot forward amidst very difficult conditions on Saturday in Pasadena, managing to produce 2 best times in her 3 individual races.  She, too, will race this Saturday at the Finale in San Fernando.  Congratulations, Kavya!

Sohum Kulkarni (9-10 Boys)
Mr. Kulkarni threw down a massive effort in the 100 Breast, dropping nearly 6 seconds and grabbing 5th place in the event.  His 50 Breast also would have qualified for Finals, but that session was canceled due to lightning.  Huge swims, Sohum!

Capri Pierce (9-10 Girls)
Miss Pierce’s superpower may be the permanent smile affixed to her visage and it certainly helped her to get through a difficult weekend of racing.  3 of her 6 individual races were best times, with her biggest improvement coming in the 50 Back (-1.86).  She also completed a legal 50 Fly, which has been a challenge for her of late, and represented the team as a member of the 5th place 200 Free Relay.  Awesome racing, Capri!

Lucy Song (9-10 Girls)
Miss Song achieved 100% best times in her 2 individual races.  Could not have asked for a better attitude and effort from this young lady.  Fantastic job, Lucy!

Keni Visistsri (9-10 Girls)
Although she was not able to achieve any new best times, Miss Visistsri has been on a roll lately, performing well enough at recent competitions to qualify for this meet in 2 events.  She also represented the team as a member of the 5th place 200 Free Relay.  Excited to see what she can do this summer.  Well done, Keni!

Hudson Wolfe (9-10 Boys)
Mr. Hudson demonstrated his athleticism by racing a full slate last weekend, Finaling and placing 10th in the 100 Breast with a new best time of 1:44.42 (-3.05).  He also represented the team as a member of the victorious 200 Free Relay!  Great work, Hudson!

Beach 2
Beach 2 had a strong presence with 8 swimmers competing at Pacific Committee Championships. Everyone showed up with game faces and did not allow the rain, wind, and cold to stop them from racing lights out. Seeing them overcome adversity and make the most of it was so much fun to see. Great job all!

Alysha Annamalai (9-10 Girls)
Alysha had a full line-up this meet with 8 total events (6 individual & 2 relays). She showed up to every single one of her individual events with a positive mindset and gave her best effort on each swim. Even though she did not make it back for finals individually, she remained committed to the team and stayed until the end of each day for her relays. Her 200 Medley Relay was in the canceled finals session on Saturday (thunder and lightning) but we got to see her speed in the 200 Free Relay on Sunday! She led it off and set a new personal best in the 50 Free with a 36.43, helping the team to a 5th-place finish overall! Great job, Alysha!

Sean Everitt (9-10 Boys)
Sean had a fantastic meet as he got personal bests in all but one of his individual events. He swam the 50s of all four strokes: Fly, Back, Breast, and Free. His biggest drop came in the 50 Breast (-2.52) and other drops included the 50 Free (-0.54) and the 50 Backstroke (-1.08). Great job at this meet, Sean! Now we shift our focus to long course and I am excited to see you race then!

Nina Haubner (9-10 Girls)
Nina also had a full line-up this weekend with 8 total events (6 individual & 2 relays). She made finals in all but one of her individual events. She kicked things off with a BIG time drop in the 100 Back (-6.94) and followed up with other time drops in the 100 Breast (-0.59) and 50 Back (-2.97) as well. She made finals in the 50 Breast but was unable to swim it as it was in the canceled finals session on Saturday (thunder and lightning). Along with Alysha, she anchored the 200 Freestyle with a speedy 35.64 to help them place 5th overall. Great job this meet, Nina! I am so happy to see all of your hard work paying off. Big things are headed your way!

Theo Haubner (11-12 Boys)
Theo came up to the Rose Bowl for only one event - the 50 Breast. He swam a solid time of 42.65 and managed to place 14th overall. Even if it was just for one event, I’m glad you came up to swim with us, Theo! You’ve been working hard all season and I am excited to see it pay off in the coming months.

Sebastian Martinez (11-12 Boys)
Sebastian also came up to the Rose Bowl for only one event - the 50 Free. He had a fantastic race as he almost broke the 30s barrier with a 30.65 (-0.67) which was good for 18th overall at the meet. Great job, Sebastian! I am super excited to see you race in long course season!

Sellers Stough (9-10 Boys)
Sellers also had a full lineup this meet (6 individual & 2 relays) and he swam great! He qualified for finals in all but one of his events and set 4 new personal bests: 50 Free (-0.30), 50 Breast (-0.37), 100 Breast (-1.29), 50 Back (-1.69). Like so many other of our athletes, he also had a relay on Saturday (200 Medley) but he did not swim it because the session was canceled (thunder/lightning). He was on the 200 Freestyle Relay on Sunday along with David Arnold, Hudson Wolfe, and Patrick Kipp where they placed first overall!! Great job, Sellers! Keep up the great work and let’s get ready for long course!

Brett Wisniewski (9-10 Boys)
This multi-sport athlete had a fantastic meet and put on a show for everyone. He set personal bests and qualified for finals in all but one of his events: 100 Back (-6.04) and 50 Free (-1.82). An unfortunate goggle situation set him back in the 50 Breast but that did not stop him from continuing to keep a positive mindset. He did have a relay (200 Medley) but, as mentioned before, it did not happen because of the canceled finals session on Saturday. I am so proud of you, Brett! Your work ethic and team-first mentality is awesome to see and it inspires so many others. Keep it up!

Zack Winsiewski (9-10 Boys)
Alongside his brother, Zack also had a fantastic meet where he set personal bests in 2 of his events and qualified for finals in all of them: 100 Back (-5.89) and 50 Free (-1.14). In his 50 Breast, he was 17th after prelims but managed to squeeze in after some scratches. Unfortunately, along with the 200 Medley Relay, he was not able to swim it as Saturday’s finals session was canceled due to thunder/lightning. Great job, Zack! I am super excited to see you race in the long course season!

Beach 3
What a stellar job this group did. Such a crazy storm, such a crazy meet.  I am super proud of this group and how they handled it all, and still managed to pull out some fast swims..  Way to go Beach 3!!!

By the way - the Beach 3 awards bag was the heaviest, and everyone in this group scored points. Penny Chiu scoring the most on the ladies side of things for the team.  Again, way to go Beach 3!!!

David Arnold - David did an amazing job this weekend and also was part of that incredible win on the 10 and under Relay. Way to go D’Arnold! Best time in the Relay as well.

Santi Baranda - Santi surprised himself I think by swimming two 500’s in one day and dropping time each time.  We can do hard things, right.   Best times in 50 free, 100 IM, 100 Free, 500 free twice and 200 IM. Way to go Santi.

Talia Cistone - Talia came away with several podium finishes this weekend and best times in the 200 Free, 100 Breast and 50 Back.

Penny Chiu - Penny had one heck of meet with a really full schedule that included relays. Nice time drops in 200 Free, 50 Free, 100 IM, 100 Breast and 200 IM. She grabbed and a couple new cuts for all her hard work. Very proud!

Hana Imai - Hana was another athlete to make new cuts and also swim the 500 twice. Hana had best times in 100 IM, 100 Fly, 500 Free, 100 Breast and was a great contributor to her relays for podium finishes. Way to go Hana!

Aria Kim - Aria, coming off of a string of illnesses, did a nice job racing for her team and had drops in 100 Back, 100 Breast, 50 Back and going under 30 in the 50 on the relay.  Go Aria!

Patrick Kipp - Patrick “waz up” Kipp had a great meet, especially that anchor leg on the 10 and under relay. He dropped time in 50 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Back and great relay!!!!!

Koji Konishi - Koji “straight outta precomp” Konishi scored a lot of points in his first Pac Com Champs.  What an initiation to championships.  He dropped time in 100 IM, 100 Breast, and helped his team drop time in the relay.

Hailey Kuo - Hailey (the comedian of the group) and swimming in her new age group, did a really nice job.  I was especially impressed with some new skill work she was bringing to her swimming. She dropped time in 50 Fly, 100 Breast, 50 Back and added value to both her relays.  Way to go sleigh!

Hudson Menke - Hudson surprised himself with his ability to swim the 500 twice in one day (which is hard to do)  and had nice drops in both of those swims. Way to go big guy!

Adelei Mosteller - Adelei gave it her all, stretching herself between diving, water polo and swimming. Add in the weather and you have quite a monumental task. She dropped time in 100 Back and 50 Free..  Kudos Adelei!

Barrett Poole - Barrett had a great meet as well and I found that he made some really nice changes to his swimming technique in this meet. He also had the best tent on the hill. Barrett had drops in 50 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Free and great relay swims.

Mateo Sanchez - Mateo had a breakout meet and kept surprising himself along the way.

Piper Sootkoos - Piper did some fantastic work and swam her heart out for some nice time drops in all of her races, 100 Free, 100 IM, 50 Free..

Mateo Trombley - Trombleyyyyyyyyyy did a great job as well, dropping time in the 50 Breast  and 50 Free and scoring for his team.

Beach 4
Juliette Tymick
Juju’s debut at Pac Champs seeded her 12th overall in the 200 Freestyle. She seeded in at a 2:36, qualified for finals with a 2:30 and then proceeded to drop another 9 seconds in finals to go a 2:21.5. Considering the daunting weather, an incredible feat of athleticism. Juju placed top 20 in the 50 free 100 IM and 100 Back as well.

Adam Kim
Adam’s competitive spirit really shined at this weekend's meet with incredible integrity and dedication considering the weather.  Dropping a whole second in his 100 Breast which he swam a few weeks ago as well as an incredible 2.5 seconds on his 50 free from a few weeks ago as well. Another second drop in the 100 free. Adam showed up ready to race and the results were in.

Tristan Hickmon
Tristan swam her heart out at the 200 free she qualified for but was undaunted by the weather. It was a great learning lesson for her on the benefits of hard work and you could see the motivation sparkle up in her! She also learned that relying on yourself to know what event is being raced is very important.

Alex Miyashita
Considering the circumstances Alex came into the meet with, having battled sickness and a broken wrist, he persevered this meet dropping time in the 50 free, 200 free and during a time trial 4 seconds in the 100 Breast. Alex benefited from being an alternate, as enough people scratched the event to allow him to race in finals with a great swim to boot! A big time drop in the 200 IM as well.

Sheenah Mahindra
Having raced really well at the last meet with some significant time drops the cold weather effects were really clearly taking their toll on our swimmers. Despite tons of dedication and hard work, dropping time was elusive for her at this meet. She still had an incredibly positive attitude despite the weather!

Kate Lanzdorf
Dropping time in 50, 100, and 200 free and 200 IM Kate had a great meet. All of these drops are coming from 4 consecutive meets where she had dropped significant times. There's something to be said about her consistency and dedication to competitiveness in the sport.

Annie Coyne
Annie really showed up this weekend for the 500 freestyle swim. The only one of her peers to race it this weekend. With some really tight 100 splits she managed to shave off 7 seconds from her best time that was done a few weeks ago putting her ever closer to sub 6 minute 500. Her few other swims were close to her best times. The weather was not forgiving.

Beach 5
Mazie Adams (13-14 Girls)
Miss Adams had several very solid swims last weekend, most notably in her Freestyle races, especially the 1650, 500 and 50 (all best times).  Her best finish was on the podium (3rd place) in the 1650 Free, with a nearly 21 second drop in the pouring rain on Friday night.  Strong showing, Mazie!

Sarah Diethelm (13-14 Girls)
Miss Diethelm raced to 3 best times in her 3 individual events, including a podium finish in the 100 Free (3rd).  She finished no lower than 5th place in any event.  Congratulations, Sarah, on an outstanding effort!

Avalon Kim (13-14 Girls)
Miss Kim bagged 2 new AG Champs cuts in the Backstrokes (100/200), with a massive 10 second improvement in her 200 Back and a nearly 4 second improvement in her 100 Back, winning each of those races in the process.  She also had a very good 200 IM (-3.79), 500 Free (-3.08) and 200 Free (-2.98) and swam a leg on the 5th place 200 Free Relay.  Solid weekend, Avalon!

Zoey Lewis (13-14 Girls)
Miss Lewis continued the trend of improving in her Backstroke races this season, finishing 9th in the 100 and 11th in the 200 and also threw down an impressive 500 (-4.14) to take 6th in that event.  Well done, Zoey!

Raya Lluz (13-14 Girls)
Miss Lluz was consistently hanging right around her best times all weekend, breaking through for a new PB in the 200 IM on Saturday and the 100 Back on Sunday (8th place).  I am optimistic about the Long Course season for her, as she has some of the best practice attendance in the group.  Kudos, Raya!

Olive Richmon (13-14 Girls)
Miss Richmon improved in every single individual race last weekend at a meet that proved to be her best outing of the season.  Her best finish was 9th place in the 500 Free, cutting 7.28 seconds off her previous best in the event.  She also threw down an impressive anchor split of 1:00 on the 400 Medley Relay, but unfortunately her relay was DQd for an early takeoff.  Onward and upward, Olive!

Alejandro Safa (13-14 Boys)
Mr. Safa was en fuego this weekend, with his standout race coming in the 1650 Free on Friday in a downpour.  He dropped more than a minute in that race to snag his first AG Champs cut and win the event (he grabbed the 1000 Free cut with his split in the same race).  He was also victorious in the 500 Free, another AG Champs cut, with a best time by a whopping 7.49 seconds.  He finished no lower than 13th in any race and was a member of the 3rd place 200 Free Relay and 4th place 400 Medley Relay.  Way to go, Alejandro!

Danny Zimmerman (13-14 Boys)
Mr. Zimmerman raced very well last weekend, picking up new AG Champs cuts in the 400 IM, 100 Back, 200 Back and 50 Free (relay leadoff).  He was also a member of the 3rd place 200 Free Relay and 4th place 400 Medley Relay.  This multi-sport athlete has continued to chip away at his best times every time he races and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do into this summer’s Long Course season.  Way to be, Danny!

Senior 2
Cierra Garcia
What really set the weekend for Cierra was the big drop in the 100 fly. The added strength and endurance she had been working on, Cierra’s fly was….well flying! Her best event, the 500 free was noticeably stronger as well though her times were exactly the same as the previous swim. Showing really strong sportsmanship and integrity throughout the turmoil of the weekend.

Taryn Chao
Qualifying in the 50, 100 and 200 free events Taryn managed to go best times in all 3 events. The 100 Breast came in strong with a 12 second drop, notably her technique improved giving her the big advantage. Similarly in the 200 IM there was a 9 second drop equally so due to the improvements in form she had been working on.

Kaisa Allen
Having dedicatedly worked on her middle distance swims for the past several months Kaisa came in fast with an 8 second drop in her 200 Freestyle swim looking effortless and strong throughout the difficult swim. Another big drop in the 100 Breast with huge potential to drop even more in the event. The 100 fly event was some of the best swimming I had seen her do and thusly another significant 13 second drop racing her peer Cierra lane to lane. The 200 IM showed her combined Breast and Fly improvements adding up to a 15 second drop from her previous best. She had an opportunity to represent BCS in the 400 Medley relay swimming the Fly leg where she dropped another 7 seconds from her best time that same day.

Dylan Vo
Considering how impressive his previous meet had been Dylan managed to drop a considerable amount of time this weekend. Looking really enthusiastic about the 100 Breast, Dylan claimed personal best dropping 3 seconds from a huge drop at the previous meet. Showing great composure in the water Dylan went on to drop 13 seconds in the 100 Fly which he put lots of effort into improving and it paid off. With the big Breast and Fly improvements the 200 IM saw a 15 second time drop as well. The added effect of sharp powerful turns kept the speed and momentum up the whole race.

Senior 3
What a crazy meet! This was the coldest meet we have ever attended and I think we did a knock out job!

Aiden Barret
Aiden swam in some of his favorite events this weekend like the 500 Free and 200 Free. This was a great opportunity to practice those events as he gets ready for the school. Aidens goal is to swim the 500 at CIF this year. Good Luck Aiden!

Sebastiano Bystedt
Seb had a great meet dropping 3 seconds in his best event the 200 Breaststroke and he almost broke his goal milestone for th 100 Fly going a 1:00.5. Keep working hard and you will be under a minute in not time!

Mikeala D’Adamo
Mikki was the star of this weekend dropping time in all 7 of her events and grabbing 2 Spring Age Group cuts. Mikki went a 18:58 in the Mile and a 2:01.9 in the 200 Free. Phenomenal job this weekend we will see you at SPAG!

Madelyn Fu
Maddy hit a couple of big mile stones this weekend. She is the first girl in Senior 3 to swim a 26 seconds freestyle and she finally cracked the code on breaking the 1:00 barrier for the 100 Free. Great job Maddy!

Cayden Garcia
Cayden showed up big for his team this weekend and stepped in as a relay replacement when his teammate was unable to compete during the final session. Thats the kind of teamwork we like to see Cayden.

Jewel Lluz
Jewel is always a blast at swim meets. Her never ending positivity is always fun to work with even when the weather is brutal she finds a way to bring her positivity into the mix. Things are looking good for Jewel who swam outside her comfort zone this weekend dropping time in all of her off events.

Grant Morgan
Grant showed a lot of potential this weekend as he begins to up his commitment to swimming. I can wait to see what Grant is capable as attendance continues to improve. Grant is one to keep and eye on!

Aya Olszewski
Aya is always showing signs of improvement since she joined the team. She had big drops in the 100 Breaststroke and is on the cusp of breaking the 1:00 barrier for the 100 Free. Keep up the hard work and you will see the results you are looking for.

Bennet Sootkoos

Bennet was another one of our stand out swimmers at Pac Champs. He finaled in all of his events and managed to go 1:59 in the 200 Free. Congratulations on grabbing multiple Summer JO cuts this weekend. Keeping pushing for the cuts in the next age group!

Ethan Syring
Ethan had the opportunity to swim at his first Championship meet this weekend. He almost broke the 1:00 barrier on the 100 Free as well. Keep working hard and you will get there.

Marcus Syring
Marcus swam a full slate at Pac Champs. He showed a lot of prowess in the 200 I.M. He did a good job applying what he learned to that race. Keep up the hard work and you will hit all of your goals!

Bella Tieman
Bella swam a lot of distance events which is always a great sign to see athletes sign up for distance events off of their own volition. Keep stepping outside your comfort zone and you will find the key to your success.

Amelia Tucker
Amelia always finds a way to go fast on race day. She always seems to defy expectations on race day. Amelia did a great job at Pac Champs dropping time in her 200 Free.

Joshua Truong
Joshua was able to swim in a couple of races at Pac Champs despite a sprained but ultimately had to scratch the meet due to his injury.

Hattie Wildes
Hattie is starting her season off with a championship meet. What a great way to hit the ground running.

Senior 4
Senior 4 did a fantastic job at Pac Champs! Despite the crazy weather on Friday and Saturday everyone did the best job they could taking care of what needed to happen, checking in and out, trying to warm up and still cheering for each other. Super impressed with how you handled the weekend.

Boden Allen
Boden kicked off Saturday with a small drop in his 100 Free followed by a nice 3 second drop in his 200 IM after working hard on all the strokes all season. Saturday ended with a small add in the 200 Fly but still a great effort with much better turns and walls. Sunday Boden put together a small drop in his 100 Fly and a solid drop in the 100 back with great tempo! Boden closed out his Pac Championships with a small drop in the 50 free.

Franco Lee
Franco started with a 1 second drop in his 100 Free going 51.5 with much better walls and followed that up with qualifying 8th in the 100 Breast with a small drop going 1:03.00. Unfortunately he did not get his finals swim due to the lightning but did Time Trial this Sunday and replicated the time. On Sunday Franco had a great 200 Free dropping 3.5 with super walls and sub kicks which earned him a second swim and a 4th place finish. Franco also raced the 200 Breast where he dropped 2.3 seconds just missing the Sectional cut and finishing 6th at Finals. Franco also helped on relays Sunday night.

Gabby Nicholas
Gabby started off Saturday with a 2:21 200 IM and qualifying for Finals where she finished 4th that evening. Gabby also nabbed a second swim in the 100 Breast going 1:14 but did not get to swim that evening. She Time Trialed the 100 Breast on Sunday and grabbed a new Spring Age Group Champs cut going 1:11! Gabby also qualified for finals in the 200 Fly. On Sunday Gabby started her morning with a 1.6 second drop in the 200 Free going 2:05 and making Finals where she finished 5th. Gabby also had a fantastic 100 Fly in prelims dropping 3.5 to grab another Spring Champs cut going 1:02.4 and finished 3rd in Finals. Gabby also helped on both relays Sunday evening.

Heather O’Brien
Coming off a week of skiing for Ski Week Heather added a bit in her 200 Back on Saturday but still managed to grab a second swim and finished 14th and also got to swim her 500 “cold turkey” adding some time on that but still qualifying for Finals. Sunday went much better with a 1.4 second drop in the 200 Free going 2.00 and finishing 4th. In the 50 Free she kept chipping away at that Sectional cut dropping .13 in the morning and then .36 at Finals to finish 6th with a 25.39. Heather also had a nice 1:03 100 Fly split in the medley relay.

Pierce Ryan
Pierce kicked off Saturday with a small drop in his 200 Back to grab a second swim and finish 13th. Pierce was right off his best time in the 200 IM but then pulled out a great 100 Breast dropping 2.8 for a 1:06.4. Sunday Pierce dropped over 12 seconds in his 200 Breast going 2:22 and grabbing a second swim to drop a bit more time and finish 11th. Pierce also made Finals in the 100 Back finishing 12th. Pierce also led off the 400 medley relay.

Ben Schlehuber
Ben was the lone Senior 4 swimmer Friday evening swimming the 1650 and dropped 38.6 seconds going 18:06! Ben started Saturday with a 3.5 second drop in the 200 Back and finished 10th that evening with a 2:06. For the 100 Free Ben channeled his inner sprinter to drop 1.6 going 51.0. Ben also qualified 8th in the 500 Free but did not get to swim that evening but replicated his 5:06 in a Time Trial. Sunday Ben was a bit off on his 200 Free but did put together a nice 50 Free dropping .5 and making Finals. At Finals he finished 11th with a 23.3 and then led off the 200 Free relay to drop a bit more going 23.2.

Senior 5
Senior 5 took 7 swimmers to Pac Champs this past weekend. Before I get into the swimming, I would like to say how proud I am of all 7 swimmers for braving the frigid weather conditions, that was tough and the athletes persevered.
Although the air temp was cold the swimming was hot, I was super impressed with how everyone performed over the weekend. We walked away with a handful of best times, plenty of matched times and a few lessons learned. I am excited for long course season, I’m excited to see what these athletes can do!

Isaac Chang
Isaac had himself a great meet, out for the 6 events he was entered in her finaled in all 6. He never finishing outside the top 10 and although his Saturday finals were cut short due to the weather he didn’t let that affect his mood and he came to race on Sunday! Isaac walked away with a new best time in the 200 Fr and matched his bests in his other 2 events. One of his biggest swims though came in the 200 Fr relay, where he split 22.21 to anchor the relay. Our focus shifts to Long Course Season now and I excited to see what Isacc can accomplish!

Alex Chun
Alex joined us at Pac Comm for Sunday, and he brought the sunshine and came to race! I was very impressed with Alex’s individual races. He walked away with 2 new best times, 3 individual finals, and 3 top 5 finishes! After a season of ups and downs, I was very proud and happy to see him perform so well and I’m excited to see what he can do this upcoming Long Course Season!

Ethan Hott
Ethan was a superstar all weekend, his energy and smile is contagious! Saturday was a tough day but the racing conditions were dire. With the sun on Sunday Ethan came to race he was right on his best for all 3 events and finaled in the 100 Fly! Ethan was instrumental in the relays as well, helping our boys B relay team finish in the top 10 for all 3 relays. Ethan is setting himself up for a very successful Long course season, I’m very excited for the spring and summer!

Tiara Jackson
Tiara was a trooper all weekend! On Saturday and Sunday she was in the first event and first heat, and on both days there was a huge delay right before her races. She did not let that effect her mentality, she came to race! Tiara made finals in all of her events and walked away with 2 new best times in the 50 and 100 Free, if you ask her she’s a sprinter now! Tiara will be racing again this upcoming weekend at sectionals, and our focus turns to Long Course Season!

Brooke Patel
It is so happy to see Brooke back in the pool and racing after long battle with injuries! Brooke made finals in all of her events and she matched all of her best times from when she was fully fit. Her best race of the weekend came in her final for the  200 Breast, after a mix up in Prelims, stopping at the 150 mark. She came back for finals and dropped 4 seconds off her previous best! Brooke I’m so proud of the work you have put in and I’m so excited for the future and can’t wait for you to be firing on all cylinders, the future is very bright!

Andy Pham
Andy has been working really hard this past couple of months and he had himself a solid Pac Champs. He finaled in all of his events and walked away with 1 best time in the 100 Fly. Although he didn’t snag any more best times he was right on his best with his other events. After a nice chat at the end of the meet, I’m excited for Long Course Season! Andy if you can continue with the effort you have put in these past 2 months, your goals will become a reality!
