2024 Downey Meet Recap!

Last Saturday, BCS sent 50 athletes to the South Gate Aqua Coalition Spring Meet at Downey High School.  This meet served as the kickoff to our Long Course competitive season, and if Saturday’s results are any indication, we’re in for a really great next few months! 

With many of our athletes competing in Long Course events for the first time (a hefty challenge in its own right), we’re not able to put together our usual total time dropped list, but our athletes did rack up a whopping 62 Top-10 Finishes, with 19 of them being in the Top-5, and 1 event win from Beach 4’s Harlow Yerke!

The switch from Short Course to Long Course can always be a bit challenging (physically AND mentally), so all our athletes should be very proud of their performances and excited for what’s to come as we continue wrapping up spring and moving into the summer season!
