Group Promotion

Promotion to the next level of swim group is at the discretion of the coaching staff. Swimmers considered for promotion must:

1) Fulfill all Group Requirements points of the group they are currently in.

2) Meet all Group Criteria points of the group they are being considered to be promoted to. 

All promotions will be decided at the end of each swim season. There are two seasons a swim year, short course and long course seasons. The end of the short course season will be the last day of competition of the SCS Short Course (SC) Championships. The end of the long course season will be the last day of competition of the SCS Long Course (LC) Championships.

Parents of swimmers considered for promotion will be sent an email. Your swimmer must be able to commit to all requirements of your new group so careful consideration should be taken when accepting a promotion. The new group expectations may be too difficult or time consuming. Swimmers that cannot fulfill group requirements by the end of each season may be subject to group reassignment.   

Sometimes turning down a promotion is the right choice.
