Welcome to the 2025-26 Swim Season! (Comp Members)

(Registrar) Sara Butters

We’re excited to welcome both our new and returning SRays families to another fantastic year in the pool. Whether you’ve been here for years or are just starting your swim journey, here’s your quick cheat sheet for key club information.

📝 Swimmer Registration Acknowledgment (Mid September)

To finalize your swimmer’s registration, you’ll need to acknowledge your swimmer’s Swimming Canada registration:

  • You will receive an email from Swimming Canada (via SportLomo) sent to the primary email address you registered with SRays.

  • The email will include sign-in and acknowledgment instructions. Please follow these promptly.

  • To complete your registration, click the “Update Information” button on your member card.
  • ⚠️ Do not click “Register/Renew”—this starts a new registration. Clubs handle swimmer and coach registrations directly.

  • If your swimmer’s acknowledgment is already complete and their status is active, no further action is required.

📋 Fees & Payments

  • Annual Training Fees are split into 10 monthly installments by default.

  • If you prefer to pay in full or in three equal installments, please let us know by emailing [email protected]

🚪 Withdrawals

If you withdraw from the program, the following fee commitments apply:

  • Oct 1 – Dec 31 → 35% of Fees & Commitments

  • Jan 1 – Apr 30 → 75% of Fees & Commitments

  • After Apr 30 → 100% of Fees & Commitments

🎯 Fundraising

  • $100 per swimmer fundraising requirement (families with multiple swimmers will be required to raise $50 for additional swimmers).

  • Our club-hosted swim meets are our main fundraising source.

  • Each family must provide at least one volunteer for every meet we host.

🤝 Volunteer Commitment

The Strathcona County Swim Club is powered by volunteers!

  • We use a points system to make sure every family shares in the workload.

  • The number of points you need depends on your swimmer’s training level. (Please refer to Fundraising and Volunteer Commitments)

  • Track your points under: My Account → Invoices & Payment → Service Hours on the club website.

📅 Training Schedules

  • The schedules posted on the website are your primary reference.
  • Sept/Oct calendars are already uploaded.

  • These will also be added into the Calendars feature in our system soon, with a subscribe option for desktop/phone. We’ll let you know once that’s available!

All scheduled practices will have a 15min pre-pool activation before the scheduled time.

🎉 Team Events & Info Sessions

Season Kickoff Social - September 21
Our social events coordinator, Melissa Beyer, has planned Bowl Into the Season Kick Off -  be sure to RSVP!

Swim Meets 101 - Date TBA
We’ll be hosting a Swim Meets 101 session to help swimmers and families understand:

  • What meets mean for your athlete and for you

  • The process & what to expect

  • What to pack

  • Volunteering expectations

This is a great chance—especially for newer families—to ask questions and learn more about competitions in the swimming world.
