Our Mission
We create opportunities for success through competitive swimming. From the first 'grassroots' splash to Olympic podium dreams, we provide the environment for athletes to develop physical fitness, resilience, and a lifelong love for the sport.
At TSC, we want our swimmers to have fun training, and concentrate on the process of getting better. 'It's not how fast you're swimming, it's how you're swimming fast' - Head Coach Bill

Our History
Founded in 1984 by Byron MacDonald as
Toronto Aquatic Swimming Klub (TASK),
our swim club began with a simple but ambitious vision to establish a premier high-performance swim program in the heart of downtown Toronto. What started as a small group of 39 swimmers and a single provincial qualifier has evolved into one of the most respected non-profit competitive swim clubs in Canada for youth swimmers ages 6 & up.
In the mid-90s, the club rebranded to Toronto Swim Club (TSC) and began a rapid ascent. A pivotal shift occurred around 2010, when an expanded partnership with the University of Toronto allowed our top groups to train full-time. This access changed the dynamic of the club, allowing us to scale our impact while maintaining the high standards of excellence.
Under decades of elite leadership — including the transformative years under John Grootveld, and our current head coach Bill O'Toole — TSC has grown into a powerhouse club of over 500 athletes, consistently ranking as one of the top clubs in Ontario and Canada.
Today, TSC remains a cornerstone of the Toronto athletic community, dedicated to cultivating the next generation of future champions and healthy, confident athletes.
