12&Under Central Regions
A message from Coach Ashley Zaharia
This past weekend at the 12 & Under Central Region Short Course Championship Meet we were so proud of all of our swimmers. Not only did we have some absolutely AMAZING swims but we also showed an exuberant amount of team spirit and support that other coaches were even praising us on. This makes us so proud since we all know that sport isn’t just about our competitions and training, but building good character, which is truly what we are doing.
Although everyone swam amazingly there are a few special shout outs that need to be recognized. A special congratulation goes out to all of our Festival qualifiers from this weekend; Olivia Luka, Fiona Rees, Isabella Antonio, Emma Wheler, Andrew Zab, Sebastian Nisker, and Thomas Wheatcroft. Way to go guys, your hard work and dedication to sport has truly paid off! Thomas was also the recipient of the 11 year old boys high point award, scoring the most overall individual points in his age category! Along with our qualifiers we also had many close calls and great races that everyone should be proud of!
We also wanted to congratulate the 10 & Under boys 200 Free Relay and the 11 and 12 year old girls 200 Medley A Relay. Pedro Pesce. William Valcic, Ian Binns, and Sebastian Nisker placed third in their race, and Maija Rix, Marni Gray, Uma Tong, and Alicia Corbeire placed first in theirs! A great showing of teamwork from everyone!
We are truly so proud of all of our competitors this weekend and wish luck to our swimmers that are going to their championship meets this weekend at the 13 & Over Central Region Short Course Championship Meet and Ontario Winter Festivals. GO TSC!
