Paul Lau, NCCP level 3 coach with over 15 years of coaching experience from novice to national level athletes; has coached with Champion Swimming, Richmond Hill Aquatic Club, and J-Dolphins. In the first 3 years, since the inception with Aurora Ducks Swimming in 2018, Paul has already generated 2 national medalists, 2 senior trials swimmers, over 10 new national swimmers, over 50 new provincial swimmers for the club. With Paul's leadership, over 100 club records were broken. Paul was a former competitive swimmer and an elite track and field athlete where he was a former provincial champion, competed at national levels and was selected to the Canadian Track & Field Junior Team. Paul holds an engineering degree from University of Toronto and is the owner and Director of Performance of Champion Swimming.
Coach Sinie brings over 25 years of international swimming coaching experience in Asia and Canada, guiding athletes across all levels—from age group swimmers to masters. In British Columbia, he coached with Hyack Swim Club, Simon Fraser Aquatics, and Langley Olympians Swim Club.
As a Level 5 American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) and NCCP Senior Coach certified, Coach Sinie is committed to continuous learning and constantly seeks effective coaching methods. His training philosophy centers on quality and strategies, emphasizing a holistic approach integrating movement patterns, awareness, and functional development in water- and land-based training. Passionate about fostering individuality, building character, and developing leadership in young swimmers, Coach Sinie strives to help athletes explore the boundaries of their potential and achieve their best.
Alex has dedicated 10 years as a competitive swimmer for the Ducks, including 3 years on the Elite Team. Since starting as an instructor for Champion Swimming School in 2021, Alex has cultivated his passion for teaching young athletes the fundamental technical skills required to succeed in a competitive environment. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto, Alex is also working towards obtaining his Commercial Pilot Licence and Level 1 NCCP certification.
Alex sees challenges as opportunities for growth, and believes that effort and consistency is key for fostering the discipline swimmers need for long-term success both in and out of the pool.
Nicole has 10+ year of competitive swimming experience. Nicole is a national level medalist and has represented DUCKS at the Canadian Swimming Trials as well as FINA World Cup. She is currently training in the University of Waterloo Warriors Swim Team. Nicole is NCCP certified and has been coaching with DUCKS and instructing with Champion Swimming for more than 5 years. She has plenty of experience and knowlege regarding swim/dryland technique and swimmer development.
Tulia has 7 years of competitive swimming experience with the Ducks and has been teaching swimmers of all levels for the past 4 years at Champion Swimming. She is NCCP trained and passionate about helping young athletes develop strong technique, confidence, and a love for the sport.
Isabella has represented the Aurora DUCKS for over 10 years of her competitive swimming career. Throughout her last 4 years as an Elite competitive swimmer, Isabella was an instructor at Champion Swimming while also obtaining her NCCP certification. Isabella is presently pursuing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto while continuing to coach with the DUCKS. Isabella believes in pushing athletes outside of their comfort zone while achieving overall health and wellness through competitive sport.
Venus is a passionate athlete and coach, excited to start the year with Ducks. With 8 years of competitive swimming experience and nearly 1 year of teaching at Champion Swimming. Venus is NCCP level 1 trained and actively gains teaching and coaching experience with the goal of motivating swimmers to try their best, discover their potential, and enjoy the sport.
Dr. Phoenix Wong is a distinguished chiropractor with an impressive array of credentials and experiences. Registered as a chiropractor in Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong, Dr. Wong brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. She is a former Hong Kong National Artistic Swimming Athlete, having achieved 6th place in the Asian Games and 21st in the FINA Aquatic World Championships.
