GO Kingfish Members:

GO Kingfish has been informed, December 05 @ 10:30am, that uOttawa will be open January 08, 2024:

 From uOttawa:

We are pleased to announce we have received confirmation we will be re-opening the pool in January 2024 with a re-calibrated HVAC and brand-new filtration system.

This will provide an exceptional experience for all users and staff with enhanced air and water quality.

That being said, due to staff now having to be hired and trained (with some training that can only be done in our specific pool) we will be opening in a phased approach. 

We will start to have users back in the pool as of Monday January 8th with the plan to be back up and running at 100% capacity as of Monday January 22nd. 

Our hope is earlier but it will all depend on the hiring and training process.

We will communicate with you all no later than Wednesday December 20th with what that phased in re-opening plan looks like as the next two weeks are critical for our Aquatics Team to get everything in order with hiring followed with the training once the pool is accessible to our staff.

At that time I’ll also have an updated contract to send to you for review and confirmation.

 

The Coaching staff and Board of Directors would like to thank our membership for your support during this pool closing period.  We have been amazed how our student-athletes made things work over this time by working hard, challenging themselves, swimming fast, and continuing to be the best they could be.   

Training schdules for December and January will follow:

• December - Janaury 06  training schedules have been/will be posted durinig the week of December 04, 2024 for all groups.
• Finalized January schedules will be  posterd on December 20 once uOttawa issues our pool contract.
