Huge congratulations are in place for the OS National Team that spent the last week in Toronto competing against the toughest competition in the country. Pressures ran high as the swimmers raced for days on end at such a prestigious event that they had worked towards all season. Congratulations to Danny Park for breaking the OS Club Records in the LCM 50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly with a time of 26.31, 56.61 and 2:04.87, respectively. These records were broken at the 2024 Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships that just took place in Toronto.

From July 11th to 14th, OS headed up to Kamloops to compete at the 2024 Swim BC Summer Provincial Championships. This event is the highest caliber competition in the province, bringing together almost 500 swimmers from 31 teams. After four arduous yet electrifying days of racing, OS brought home 28 Gold, 34 Silver, and 34 Bronze Medals. On top of this achievement, the team successfully defended our fourth Provincial Championship Title in a row, establishing ourselves as a formidable force. This past weekend OS brought a team of 77 swimmers and 4 coaches to Chilliwack for the 2024 Vancouver and Fraser Summer Divisionals. As the biggest team in attendance, our presence shook the pool deck, and the quality of the performances was nothing short of exceptional. From the first session, OS swimmers were dropping blistering best time after best time and accumulating impressive podium finishes in back to back races. Julia Strojnowska, Ashley Ko, Danny Park and Alex Velicico have been selected to represent Team BC at the 59th Annual Mel Zajac Jr. International Swim Meet from June 21-23 at the UBC Aquatic Centre! LOSC Fernando Lu has earned his way to the Canadian Paralympic Team for Paris 2024! His incredible performances this past week at the 2024 Bell Olympic & Paralympic Trials in Toronto have solidified his spot, punching a ticket to France with Team Canada. This past weekend LOSC sailed over to Vancouver Island to compete at the PCS Wavemaker Meet. This was a fantastic opportunity for swimmers as young as 10 years old to compete at a Long Course, Heats-and-Finals travel meet. 37 LOSC swimmers put on their tropical-inspired outfits for this Hawaii-themed event. Swim BC just released their second Performance Report which showcases the top times in the Province and Country for each event from September 2023 to March 2024. It also highlights the top teams, where LOSC places first for both Long Course and Short Course! LOSC travelled over to Winnipeg this past week to compete at the 2024 Speedo Western Canadian Championships. This championship meet features top national talent from 66 teams, yet LOSC fought hard and prevailed in individual and relay events, taking home the team title! Overall, the team earned 2657.5 points, which was over 1000 points in front of the second place team. The team also won the Men’s and Women’s team points, with 1532 and 953.5 points, respectively.
