ELITE

AGE

13 & over

PERFORMANCE Guidline

•   13 & over Canadian Junior Championship

•   13 & over Western Championship

•   13 & over Western Championship   + 5%

TECHNICAL

Guidline

•   Proficiencies in all four strokes

•   Mastering all turns and dives

•   Minimum swimming attendance: 95%

•   Minimum dryland attendance: 95%

•   Demonstrate coachability

•   Must have competed and have results in all eligible events

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Must show full commitment to the program over any other extracurricular activity

•   Develops a professional relationship with coaching staff

•   Takes ownership of swimming career and becomes accountable for choices and behaviour

•   Attends all dryland sessions

•   Attends all scheduled swim meets

•   Must show the ability to set short and long-term goals and strategies to achieve them

•   Demonstrate sportsmanship like behaviour during every training session, social events and every club organized event

•   Attends all scheduled training camps (in-town and out-of-town

 

PERFORMANCE

PERFORMANCE

Guidline

•   At least 3 AA provincial qualifying times

TECHNICAL

 Guidline

•   Proficient in all 4 competitive strokes

•    

•   Highly developed skills in all turns and starts

•   Solid skills in all  IM transitional turns

•   Demonstrate commitment to training by attending practises on a regular basis

•   Demonstrate high level of coachability

•   Must have documented performances in all developmentally appropriate events

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Demonstrates high level of interest in becoming student of the sport

•   Demonstrates strong desire to set goals in their own development and commitment to achieve them

•   Demonstrate desire to attend every possible water practice

•   Demonstrate desire to attend every dryland session

•   Attends to all scheduled swim meets, all events organized and designed by Swim Manitoba, and club organized events

•   Demonstrate sportsmanship like behaviour during every training session, social events and every club organized event

 

 

X-Swim 

AGE

14 & over

PERFORMANCE 

Guidline

•   Must hold at least 1 Junior Provincial Time

TECHNICAL

 guidline

•   Developing skills in all 4 strokes

•   Developing skills in all turns and starts

•   Must have a high level of coachability

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Demonstrate a high level of interest and desire to learn

•   Demonstrate desire to attend practices and work with coach on a schedule that allows ownership of results.

•   Attends scheduled swim meets and organized club and provincial events that work into swimmers schedule..

•   Demonstrates good sportsmanship around the pool and follows the club values of PRIDE TOUGHNESS RESPECT with their peers and younger club members.

•   Are willing to lead and encourage the younger club members when the opportunity arises.

 

DEVELOPMENT Purple

AGE

10-12

PERFORMANCE guidelines

•   Should have A time in 2 or more strokes.

•   Should have swam  200m races.

•   Should show a willingness to compete

TECHNICAL

 guidlines

•   Should be able to swim all four strokes

•   Should be able to read the pace clock

•   Should be able to consistently complete practices in their entirety.

•   Should be working towards a strong kick over distance

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Attending as many practices as possible is highly encouraged.

•   Dryland attendance is mandatory if swimmers are swimming on that day.

•   Swimmers are expected to have all of their equipment.

•   Swimmers are expected to demonstrate the club values of PRIDE TOUGHNESS RESPECT

 

DEVELOPMENT

DEVELOPMENT Black

AGE

10-12

PERFORMANCE Guidelines 

•   Should have competition experience.

•   Should show a willingness to compete.

TECHNICAL

 Guidlines

•   Should be able to complete all competitive skills and strokes within a practice.

•   Should be able to interpret a workout and read the pace clock

•   Should be willing to improve and complete workouts as designed.

•   Should be willing to push towards progression to the next level.

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Attending as many practices as possible is highly encouraged.

•   Dryland attendance is mandatory if swimmers are swimming on that day.

•   Swimmers are expected to have all of their equipment.

•   Swimmers are expected to demonstrate the club values of PRIDE TOUGHNESS RESPECT

 

PROSPECTS Purple 

AGE

8-11

PERFORMANCE Guidelines 

•   Should have graduated Manta Swim Academy or be assessed into the group.

•   Should be willing to attend race league and local meets.

TECHNICAL

 Guidlines

•   Should  be able to complete a 50m swim without stopping and with a proper turn.

•   Should demonstrate the ability to perform all 4 kicks.

•   Should be able to perform a flutter kick, both front and back in streamline.

•   Should be able to perform correctly Butterfly Breaststroke, Backstroke and Freestyle swims for 25m with basic skills.

•   Should be able to perform basic competitive skills such as turns and streamlines consistently.

•   Should demonstrate coachability.

GROUP EXPECTATIONS

•   Swimmers are expected to bring their equipment to each practice.

•   Swimmers are expected to be respectful to their coaches, peers, and equipment.

•   Swimmers are expected to demonstrate the willingness to learn and be open and responsive to feedback.

•   Swimmers should attend the majority of the practices and scheduled swim meets.

•   Swimmers are expected to demonstrate the club values of PRIDE TOUGHNESS RESPECT
