MANTA STARTS OFF SEASON RIGHT IN SASKATOON
The Manta Swim Club had their sights set high as they departed Winnipeg to Saskatoon for a prelims and finals format competition. This competition was a great stepping stone for the team to start the season, learn and adapt to the prelims, finals, and training components throughout the meet.
MANTA swimmers enjoyed the company of their teammates took advantage of their relatively large number of athletes by creating a home-like atmosphere. The ambiance of the MANTA family was certainly evident during each session when our swimmers found ways to elevate their performances in the water or vocally support each other while on deck. The ever-growing of the club’s temperament of “team” coupled with the confidence of performing while on team-travel will undoubtedly serve MANTA well moving forward this competitive season.
This competition served as a lesson on why focused preliminary swimming is so important and how it can open doors of opportunity. MANTA did an awesome job of consistently swimming well in the morning to get “another crack at it” in the evening session. You can’t race for the podium and you can’t get another shot at PB or time standard if you don’t earn your spot in the morning. Manta accumulated over 95% best times and eager to get back into training.
Congratulations to everyone on a successful travel meet and commitment to the process.
GO MANTA GO!!!
