MANTA SWIM CLUB WINS JUNIOR PROVINCIALS

A team is a group of individuals who work together to accomplish a shared goal. MANTAs goal is to take the club to new heights and utilizing everyone's unique strengths of our MANTAs swimming family, build upon our past success and develop into a national model of excellence committed to each individual and overall TEAM success while constantly emphasizing our six core values: Honesty, Integrity, Competitiveness, Resiliency, Respect.  Sharing a goal creates a sense of enhances team cohesion since teammates know everyone in the pool is working their hardest to do exactly the same thing. A team/family environment is essential because it creates a culture where athletes can both push and learn from each other to do their best every day. MANTA is a group of individuals that have been motivated towards bettering themselves, and consequently each other, on a daily basis throughout the competitive season. This was clear on a weekend like Manitoba Junior Provincials, where contagious bar-raising performances snowballed throughout the sessions.

As our developing swimmers continue to gain racing experience in an assortment of settings and situations, we want them to be aware of their efforts and emotions – converting their nerves into channeled excitement. This awareness stems from our training environment – are you creating emotion during sets and making a conscious connection to the stimulus that the workout offers? Taking ownership and developing independence enhances commitment and durability. These foundational skills, emotions, and attitudes are pivotal in attaining potential and success in both morning “preliminary” and “finals” scenarios.

Thanks to all the MANTA parents coming out and cheering throughout the weekend. When a MANTA swimmer had a strong swim, there was clear audible support coming from the MANTA team/cheering section. This was great for our presence on deck and helped to snowball the momentum of inspired swimming from race to race. This performance is yet another verification of our TEAM and ever-surging solidarity that is evident throughout our program. 

Keep up the great work! We are right where we should be as we ride our momentum into LC Championship Season.
