Manta sisters Mia (16) and Halle (14) West have qualified to swim for Canada at the upcoming World Junior Championships this fall in Netanya Israel.  Both girls qualified based off their performances at the Canadian Swimming Trials earlier in March.

Mia West swum to three provincial age group records (15-17) in the 200 IM 200 Free and 100 Fly in order to wear the Maple Leaf for the second time.  She was also a member of Canada’s Junior Pan Pacific Team last summer. Halle West broke her own 100 and 200m breast stroke age group records (13-14) to earn her spot on Team Canada.  This will be her first time representing Canada.

This is the 9th edition of the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships. The six-day competition, will consist of over 600 swimmers representing more than 100 nations.
