Manta Swim Club Welcomes Joel Guillemin as Development Group Coach
Winnipeg, MB – [Date] – Manta Swim Club is thrilled to announce the hiring of Joel Guillemin, N.D, B.Sc, as the new Development Group Coach. Joel will be leading the Development Black and Development Purple groups, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the club.
Joel Guillemin has a distinguished background in both swimming and coaching. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction and a Doctor of Naturopathy from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. His extensive education includes certifications in advanced cardiac life support, intravenous emergency procedures, and various other therapies. Joel's commitment to continuous learning is evident as he is currently enrolled in the Age Group Coach (Swimming 201) certification program with Swim Canada, to be completed in August 2024.
Joel's swimming coaching career is equally impressive. He has been a competitive swimming coach with the Swimming Rockers Club since 2021 and previously coached the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins from 2016 to 2021. His coaching credentials include a Fundamentals Coach (Swimming 101) certification from Swim Canada, Respect In Sport certification, and Safe Sport Training.
In addition to his coaching qualifications, Joel's professional experience as a Naturopathic Doctor has provided him with a unique perspective on athlete health and wellness. He has practiced at the Centre for Natural Pain Solutions since 2021 and the Moose Jaw Naturopathic Clinic from 2016 to 2021. His background in naturopathy complements his coaching by emphasizing holistic approaches to athlete care and performance enhancement.
Joel's dedication to community and volunteerism is noteworthy. He has been involved in various roles, including student trainer for the U of S Huskies Track & Field team, wellness consultant, and children's sport camp instructor. His leadership roles at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, including serving as student president and organizing medical brigades, highlight his commitment to fostering teamwork and community engagement.
Joel's academic and athletic achievements are a testament to his dedication and excellence. He has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Indspire National Award Scholarship, Valedictorian for the CCNM Class of 2016, and the Naturopathic Students Association Honour Award. His accolades in high school and university further emphasize his well-rounded capabilities and drive.
