
Program Description:
Swimmers have been placed into their respective groups based on their individual needs and in the best interest of their development as an athlete. In every instance of a child’s placement or advancement, the coach’s experience, knowledge and understanding of the sport of swimming has played an integral part in the decision-making process.

| This is our introductory competitive level. This program focuses on transitioning swimmers into competitive swimming while building technique, skill and endurance in a fun and progressive program. In Novice, swimmers will work on all four competitive strokes as well as legal turns, dive starts, and gain a basic understanding of coaches’ terminology and use of the pace clock. |

| The Junior Development group is aimed at swimmers 9-12 years old and will focus on advancing basic skills, introducing more complex skills, and continuing to develop technique, skill and endurance in a fun and progressive program. Swimmers in Junior Development will build upon the skills established in Novice such as understanding pace times, training etiquette, basic rules, and racing skills. |

| Junior swimmers continue to build strength, endurance and proficiency in all 4 strokes as well as the Individual Medley. There is a strong emphasis on developing goal setting, training discipline and racing strategy. The primary focus will continue to be developing technique, skill and endurance as well as having fun! Swimmers in this group are striving to achieve Regional & Provincial competition standards. |

| The Youth Flex group provides training to competitive swimmers who wish to lighten their swimming load and overall commitment due to busy schedules, thus allowing them to continue in the sport. Swimmers in this group are expected to have some basic understanding of the four competitive strokes, starts, turns, and team training etiquette. |

| Athletes in this group will be introduced to more challenging training concepts and will begin to build their base for their future Senior squad training. They will continue to work to refine their skills in mental preparation & racing strategies. Swimmers in this group are striving to achieve Regional & Provincial competition standards. |

| Athletes in the Senior program will work at refining proficiency in all aspects of competitive swimming as well as developing & executing more complex race strategies. The Senior program is designed to prepare each individual athlete to reach their maximum potential. Swimmers in this group will attend competitions at the Invitational, Regional, Provincial & National level. |
