Toronto Olympian Swim Team (TORCH SWIMMING)


Welcome to the homepage for Torch, the Toronto Olympian Swim Team where persevernace meet excellence!! Torch was founded in 1993 by professional coaches Shauna Devine and Gary Nolden and has continued to produce excellence in and out of the pool for more than 25 years.
Since its founding in 1993 as a Division Three club, under Devine Torch immediately won Division Three, followed by the win of Division Two moving into Division One. Torch has coached swimmers to National and Provincial records; placed swimmers on the 2000 World Cup Tour, 2000 World Championships Team, Athens Greece, and 2000 Jr. Pan Pacific Championships, Sydney Australia.
Torch swimmers have been finalists at the World Cup Tour, World Championships and Jr. Pan Pacific Championships; and finalists and medalists at Senior Nationals, Jr. Nationals and Provincials. Under Nolden, Torch also coached, as age groupers, future Olympian and Olympic Medalist Penny Oleksiak and National Team Swimmer and Fina World Jr. Team Championship Team Member, Joshua Liendo.
Torch is a part of Olympian Swimming, one of the largest swim schools in the country! We are a coach owned and operated club and our organization is coach driven. Torch offers a full-service swimming program designed to meet the needs of every member. Since its founding, Torch has been a leading Competitive Age Group and Senior Swimming program in the country. Our professional coaches design careful and rigorous training programs to ensure that our athletes, along with their disciplined and positive attitudes, can pursue their dreams. Our goal is to provide our membership with a safe, healthy and protected environment, while helping our athletes to be the best in the pool, in the classroom and in life!
