Eric Dunn

Swim Squad Lead Coach and 10 and Under Dryland Helper

With nearly 30 years of coaching experience, Eric Dunn has made a lasting impact on the swimming community. Known to countless athletes and families simply as “Coach Eric,” he has guided swimmers at every level of the sport, from beginners in the developmental stage to senior high-performance athletes, as well as competitors in Para-Swimming and Special Olympics.

Eric’s coaching philosophy is built on his belief in “leading with love.” He is passionate about developing swimmers who are not only technically strong but also mentally resilient, firmly believing that “happy swimming is fast swimming.” His holistic approach combines technical mastery with mental performance strategies, creating an environment where athletes can thrive both in and out of the water.

A highly respected leader, Eric has been recognized with numerous honors throughout his career. He is a two-time recipient of the OSQ Coach of the Year award and was acknowledged by the National Assembly of Quebec for his dedication to Special Olympics Team Canada. His leadership has extended to both provincial and international stages, having served twice as Head Coach for Lac St-Louis at the Quebec Games, three times as a coach for Special Olympics Team Quebec at National Games, and twice as Assistant Coach for Team Canada at the Special Olympics World Games.

Above all, Eric is dedicated to helping athletes find joy, purpose, and confidence through swimming. His legacy is defined not only by the achievements of his swimmers but also by the lasting values he instills in them.
