Swift Current Barracudas Mini – Precomp Discipline Policy 2025/2026
If a behavioral issue is identified by a parent or guardian, the issue is to first be brought to the junior coach or head coach to be addressed. If the junior coach identifies the issue or the issue is brought to their attention, the following steps are to be followed.
- The child will be given a verbal warning regarding their behavior
- The child will be asked to sit on the edge of the pool for an amount of time deemed appropriate by the coach. When the coach deems the child is ready to participate, they may rejoin the group.
- If the behavior persists, the child will be removed from the group and asked to sit against the wall away from the group and the parent will be notified, as well as the head coach if they are not already aware. This removal will be documented. Once the coach deems the child ready to participate, they may rejoin the group.
- If the behavior continues, the child will be asked to leave for the duration of the lesson. The parents and the head coach will be notified, and this will be documented accordingly.
- The child may return for the next lesson but if behaviors arise, they will be immediately removed from the lesson for the duration of the class. This will be documented.
- If the child returns and has been removed from two lessons, the child will be asked to take a break from swim club for two weeks. This notification will be given in writing from the head coach to the parent, stating the behavior, the date of the incident and the date they may return,
- If behavior persists after the two week break, the child will be dismissed from swim club for the duration of the season. There will be no refund following this dismissal. This notification will be given to the parents, from the head coach, at the combined discretion of the coaching staff and the board of directors. The child may return the following season.
All documented incidents will be recorded and submitted to the board, and kept on file for the duration of the athletes registration
