The Swim Team of Placentia participates in a variety of different swim meets. All swimmers, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to participate in swim meets at some level. Swimmers are encouraged to compete, but are not required to.

| STOP Team Practice Meets |
|
Practice Meets held at Valencia High School to give our swimmers a sense of participating in a swim meet, but in a low stress, practice environment. Just like it sounds, we practice participating in a swim meet. |
For all STOP Swimmers. On occasion, swimmers from other teams may participate. |
Zero up to $5 to participate |
Volunteers are sought from families of participating swimmers. No obligations. |
Occasionally offered on Saturday mornings throughout the year. Instead of a practice, we simply run a practice meet |

| OCSC “Summer League” Meets |

A series of meets offered as part of the Orange County Swim Conference “Summer League” that STOP offers. Teams from Orange County come to our pool to participate with us. |
For all STOP Swimmers, however, swimmers must register with OCSC to participate. |
OCSC Registration Required ($25). Additional fees required for some meets. |
Each family with a participating swimmer must cover an assigned timing during the meet. Usually about 30 minutes. |
The OCSC “Summer League” runs April – August. Meets run 2-3 hours on Saturdays or may be during the week. |

Official competitive meets offered under the governance of Southern California Swimming. |
All swimmers have the opportunity to participate each month. However, different meets are for different levels of swimmers. All levels. |
$15 to participate + $5.50 for each event |
Each family with a participating swimmer must cover an assigned timing during the meet. Usually about 30 minutes. |

| SCS “Fund-Raising” Meets Hosted by STOP |

Same as Above but hosted by STOP. Hosting these meets serve as fund-raisers for the team. |

All families with a registered swimmer on STOP is obligated to cover a 2 hour shift, or pay a $50 “Buy Out” Fee. |
