Sam Clark

Head Coach

Coach Sam brings a life long passion for swimming and a love for inspiring that same passion in others. Sam has been a swim instructor for over 10 years teaching basic stroke techniques and water safety skills to children, and then made the transition to coaching in 2016. As a coach, Sam has assisted in the redesign and growth of the Lifetime Lightning in Beachwood, OH, and assisted in the coaching of several state-level swimmers for MotorCity Aquatics in Detroit, MI. Sam was promoted to head coach in 2022 after serving as assistant coach for the Torpedoes since 2020.

City of Manitou Springs Deputy City Administrator

The Colorado Torpedoes Swim Team was founded in 2006 by Head Coach Roy Chaney. Coach Roy ran his team since 2006 until 2019. In late 2019, Coach Roy was promoted to the Deputy City Administrator position with the City of Manitou Springs. Roy still supports this team as the DCA and is grateful for the many years that the team was supported by the residents of Manitou Springs and neighboring communities.
